Understanding the need to balance your thyroid condition while aiming to gain weight is essential. In Ayurveda, managing hypothyroidism and digestive issues aligns with balancing your doshas and strengthening your digestive fire, or agni. You’re dealing with an imbalance—often involving Vata and Kapha doshas.

1. Dietary Choices: Consume warm, cooked foods which are easier to digest and alleviate bloating and acidity. Include ghee, oils like sesame or olive oil, whole grains such as rice and quinoa in your diet. Root vegetables, especially sweet potatoes, and carrots are beneficial. Favor easily digestible proteins like lentils, mung beans, and lean meat if you consume non-vegetarian foods. Avoid raw, cold foods, and excessive caffeine or alcohol.

2. Meal Timing & Quantity: Eat small but frequent meals to maintain energy levels and promote digestion. Ensure you’re not skipping meals, particularly breakfast, which is critical for hypothyroidism.

3. Lehyam & Home Remedies: Ashwagandha lehyam can be helpful; it strengthens the body and supports weight gain. Take 1 teaspoon with warm milk once a day. Triphala churna before bed aids digestion; start with 1⁄2 teaspoon mixed in warm water. Ensure warm water, not cold, to maintain digestive balance.

4. Lifestyle: Regular, light exercises like walking or yoga helps manage your Vata and improve metabolism. Pranayama, specifically bhramari or alternate nostril breathing, can be soothing.

5. Herbal Teas: Consider sipping on ginger or fennel tea between meals to reduce bloating and enhance digestion. They support agni without exacerbating acidity.

Consult a healthcare provider for regular check-ups, especially due to the thyroid and cholesterol concerns, ensuring these recommendations align with your specific health needs.
