It is not uncommon for some bleeding to occur several weeks after delivery, but it’s crucial to ensure it’s not excessive or accompanied by other symptoms like fever or severe pain, which could indicate a more serious condition. For a breastfeeding mother experiencing such bleeding, using lodhrasav and usheerasv could be beneficial, given their properties in managing excessive bleeding and balancing doshas.
Lodhrasav, known for its hemostatic properties, is often used to manage excessive bleeding conditions and can be effective in reducing such postpartum issues. Usheerasv, too, has cooling properties that can help in calming any Pitta imbalances that might be contributing to irregular bleeding. But their use must be done cautiously and considering the mother’s constitution (prakriti) as well as her current state.
Before starting any Ayurvedic formulations, it’s wise for the mother to consult with her healthcare provider, especially since she is breastfeeding. Certain formulations can affect milk production or transfer compounds to the baby.
If the healthcare provider confirms the safety, lodhrasav and usheerasv can be taken according to the standard dosages, typically 10-15 ml mixed with an equal amount of water, twice daily after meals. Monitoring for any changes in bleeding or other side effects is critical. If the bleeding persists or gets worse, immediate medical attention should be sought, as it may require more than just an Ayurvedic approach. Balancing rest, hydration, and nutrition also plays a vital role in the post-delivery recovery process and should be prioritized.
