Is it normal to have prolonged periods after starting Ashokaristh at 14 years old? - #55340

I'm 14 years having irregular periods since when it started. NowI have my cycle once in two months and I've recently started taking Ashokaristh. This month I got my periods on 30 April and it had not stopped till date. Is it because of Ashokaristh

••Hormonal Regulation: At 14, cycles are often “anovulatory” (no egg is released), which causes the uterine lining to grow thicker. When it finally sheds, it can bleed for a long time. ••​Pitta Imbalance: Ayurveda views prolonged bleeding as an excess of Pitta (heat) in the blood. Ashokarishta, being a fermented preparation, contains a small amount of self-generated alcohol and “Teekshna” (sharp) qualities which can sometimes aggravate Pitta in sensitive individuals, potentially lengthening the bleed. ••​Dosage: If the dosage is too high for your body weight or constitution, it might over-stimulate the system. ••Pause the Ashokarishta: It is best to stop taking the tonic immediately until the current bleeding stops. We want to focus on “Stambhana” (cooling and stopping the flow) rather than stimulation right now. ••​Cooling Diet (Pitta Shamaka): Avoid spicy, very salty, and fermented foods (like pickles or curd) for now. Increase intake of cooling liquids like coconut water, pomegranate juice (which helps with iron), and raisins soaked in water overnight. ••​Hydration and Rest: Excessive bleeding can lead to fatigue and low hemoglobin. Ensure you are resting and staying well-hydrated.
