Addressing your daughter’s menstrual symptoms through Ayurveda involves understanding her specific dosha imbalances and applying appropriate remedies. The symptoms you describe may relate to imbalances in Pitta and Vata doshas, often exacerbating pain, inflammation, and digestive issues during menstruation.

1. Dietary Adjustments: Encourage your daughter to follow a Pitta-Vata pacifying diet. Avoid spicy, sour and pungent foods; focus on warm, cooked meals that include sweet, bitter and astringent tastes. Foods like cooked vegetables, whole grains (especially rice and oats), and sweet fruits like ripe bananas can be helpful. Limit caffeine intake as it may aggravate symptoms.

2. Herbal Remedies: Consider herbs such as Ashoka (Saraca indica), Shatavari (Asparagus racemosus), and Turmeric for its anti-inflammatory properties. These can support uterine health and balance hormones. A traditional recommendation could be a decoction of these herbs, but it’s important to do so under guidance of an Ayurvedic practitioner for correct dosage.

3. Lifestyle Modifications: Stress and vigorous activities can exacerbate her symptoms, so prioritizing rest, relaxation, and regular sleeping patterns is vital. Encourage practicing gentle yoga and meditation to help steady her mind and balance Vata dosha.

4. Ayurvedic Therapies: Panchakarma treatments, like Abhyanga (oil massage) using oils like sesame or castor, followed by a warm bath might ease pain and inflammation. These therapies should be administered by an experienced practitioner.

5. Hydration and Detoxification: Sipping on warm water with a dash of lemon might help maintain hydration and aid digestion. This simplicity helps remove ama (toxins) that may contribute to her imbalance.

These are foundational Ayurvedic approaches which may support her condition. It is crucial to consult with an Ayurvedic doctor who can provide personalized treatment after a thorough diagnosis, especially if endometriosis is suspected. If the pain is severe, or if there’s any worsening in symptoms, seek medical attention immediately, to ensure comprehensive management.
