The issues you’re facing point to an imbalance, likely in the Vata dosha. Vata, which is air and ether element, governs movement and its aggravation can lead to dryness, coldness, and digestive disturbances as you described. The following suggestions aim to pacify Vata and restore balance.

For dry skin, focus on hydration and nourishment. Use warm sesame or almond oil for daily self-massage (Abhyanga), preferably before a shower to help lock in moisture. Consume warm, cooked foods with healthy fats like ghee, avoid dry or cold foods.

Cold extremities may benefit from spices that stimulate circulation and warmth. Incorporate ginger, black pepper, and cinnamon into meals and drink warm herbal teas. Keep extremities covered, wear socks and gloves if necessary.

Digestive issues suggest digestive fire (Agni) is disrupted. To enhance Agni, have ajwain seeds (Carom seeds) with warm water after meals. Avoid raw foods, carbonated drinks, and overly spicy foods, which can unsettle Vata. Regular meals at same time daily will support digestion.

Sleep challenges often accompany Vata aggravation. A warm glass of milk with a pinch of nutmeg before bed can promote relaxation. Establish a calming evening routine, avoiding screen exposure right before sleep.

Weight loss and becoming slim unexpectedly may need deeper evaluation considering thyroid or metabolic issues. Consult a healthcare provider for a thorough check-up if this unexplained weight loss continues.

Engage in gentle exercises such as yoga or daily walking to keep energy grounded. Ensure regular relaxation and stress management practices — meditation or deep breathing exercises can be particularly beneficial.

Please use these suggestions in conjunction with, not as substitutes for, any medical advice you’ve received from healthcare professionals.

The symptoms of dry skin, cold extremities, gas formation, and weight loss suggest an imbalance primarily within the Vata dosha. Vata relates to air and ether elements, and so excess Vata can lead to dry, light, cold, and irregular conditions in the body. These conditions can also disrupt the Agni, or digestive fire, resulting in gas and burning sensations.

To address the root cause, you’ll need to focus on balancing Vata through diet and lifestyle practices. Start by incorporating warm, oily, and grounding foods. Favor cooked vegetables like sweet potatoes, carrots, beets, and squashes. Use warming spices such as ginger, cumin, and fennel to help digestion; these can be added to your meals or sipped as herbal teas.

Include healthy fats like ghee and sesame oil in your diet, as they are nourishing and help lubricate the tissues. Avoid cold and raw foods, caffeine, and excessive stimulants as they can aggravate Vata. Regular meals and a consistent routine can aid in calming the Vata dosha.

For the skin, natural oils such as almond or sesame oil can be applied to help with dryness. Consider daily self-abhyanga, a form of self-massage, which can improve circulation and warmth.

Sleep issues may improve with a warm bedtime routine. Incorporate a warm bath or herbal teas like chamomile before sleeping. Ensuring a cozy sleep environment can also support your rest.

In your case, it’s important to consider getting a professional Ayurvedic consultation. The sudden weight loss and digestive issues should be assessed more thoroughly, especially ensuring there’s no underlying condition requiring medical intervention. If these changes were rapid or severe, consult a healthcare provider promptly as this could indicate a more serious issue.
