Bright red urine in an elderly person without accompanying pain or fever can be a concerning symptom. While your father’s local Ayurvedic doctor has already started treatment with Prosteez, significant hesitancy is warranted in relying solely on herbal remedies in such cases. Bright red urine can have sevral potential causes, some of which may require urgent medical attention.

In Ayurveda, blood in the urine could be associated with Pitta imbalance, particularly rakta pitta (a condition where there’s heat and excess pitta in the blood, affecting its normal function). However, due to the critical nature of your father’s symptoms, it’s very important to rule out any serious underlying conditions like infection, kidney stones, or tumors.

I highly recommend seeking immediate clinical evaluation from a conventional medical doctor to get a proper diagnosis through urine tests, imaging, and possibly other investigations. This will help in ensuring there is no life-threatening condition causing this symptom and provide a clear path for appropriate treatment.

In paralles, while waiting for conventional medical advice, you can focus on dietary choices that help pacify Pitta, but remain cautious with any herbal or medicinal recommendations. Encourage him to stay hydraited with coconut water or diluted pomegranate juice, which can aid in cooling the body. Reduce spicy, acidic, and salty foods int too his diet, and ensure he is calm and stress-free, which can help reduce Pitta aggravation.

Remember, the presence of blood in urine warrants a thorough, immediate investigation to rule out any critical conditions. Prioritizing urgent care is crucial here, and once stabilized, you can explore additional supportive Ayurvedic therapies tailored precisely to his needs.

Bright red urine can be a sign of underlying issues that require immediate medical evaluation, especially in elderly individuals. It’s important to rule out serious conditions such as urinary tract infections, kidney stones, or even more serious concerns like bladder or kidney issues. While Prosteez tablets may support prostate health, they’re not necessarily addressing the cause of red urine, and since there’s no improvement, further steps are crucial.

Given the urgency and potential seriousness of bright red urine, I recommend promptly consulting with a healthcare provider, ideally a urologist, to perform necessary diagnostic tests. These may include urinalysis, blood tests, and imaging, which can provide clarity on the underlying cause and ensure timely treatment.

In the context of Siddha-Ayurveda, the appearance of red urine may suggest a Pitta imbalance which could be affecting the rakta dhatu or the blood tissues. A cooling diet may help in calming pitta—focus on consuming foods like cucumbers, melons, and leafy greens. Ensure his hydration is optimal, encouraging intake of water infused with cooling herbs such as coriander seeds or fennel.

Avoid deep-fried or very spicy foods that could exacerbate Pitta disturbances. If dietary adjustments are made, track any changes in urine color and overall health. Yet, these should not replace immediate medical evaluation to locate the root cause of red urine. Integrate Ayurveda for overall wellness but prioritize urgent medical care to prevent complications. Remember the emphasis must be given to precise diagnosis and treatment beyond symptomatic relief.
