Sudden skin rashes like urticaria, especially aggravated at night, can be linked to certain imbalances in your doshas. In Siddha-Ayurveda, this condition often signifies an imbalance involving Pitta and Vata doshas that causes excessive heat and movement in your body. Factors such as stress, indigestion, or certain food intake can exacerbate this.
Firstly, check for any diet triggers. Avoid Pitta-aggravating foods: spicy, oily, and fermented. Opt for a calming diet including sweet, bitter, and astringent tastes. Cooling herbs like neem and coriander are beneficial. You can prepare a simple infusion with fresh coriander leaves—steep them in hot water, let it cool, and drink or apply on the skin.
Identify possible allergens and avoid them at night. Regular intake of turmeric with warm milk can help—its anti-inflammatory properties can calm Pitta. Take care to maintain regular meal timings to strengthen your agni and reduce toxins.
Practice a calming evening routine. Incorporate relaxation exercises or meditation to stabilize Vata. Applying coconut oil or sesame oil before bedtime can soothe your skin and help manage dryness caused by Vata imbalance.
If the rashes persist or worsen, it’s important to consult a healthcare professional immediately. As complementary measures, adopt these practices to bring balance, not as a replacement for urgent care if needed.
