Concern About Menstrual Clotting in My Daughter - #49345

Client_cb7d71

My 16 year old daughter had a very large clot in the toilet while on her menses. The day before she had menstrual cramps all day long. What is the cause of the clotting? I saw this before several years back when she was exposed to early shedding of the s p I k e protein in other people.

Doctors' responses

During a period, the body sheds the uterine lining. Blood normally contains anticoagulants to keep it liquid, but when: bleeding is heavy or fast, or the lining sheds in larger pieces, the blood can pool and clot before it exits. That’s when you see clots. - it can be due to *Heavy menstrual flow *Hormonal fluctuations * Strong uterine contraction *Anovulatory cycles -Get checked if clots are repeatedly very large, bleeding soaks a pad hourly, periods last >7 days, or she has fatigue/dizziness. ***Dx (Ayurveda): Asrigdara / Raja-dushti Rx: 1)Ashokarishta – 10 ml with equal water, BD after meals 2)Lodhra churna – 1 g BD with honey or warm water 3)Shatavari churna – 3 g OD–BD with warm milk 4)Praval Pishti – 125 mg BD with honey (for bleeding & cramps) - Diet & Regimen: Avoid spicy, fried, sour foods Take warm, light meals; adequate hydration Rest during menses; avoid exertion Warm fomentation for cramps - Follow-up: 1 cycle If symptoms worse then consult offline to gynaecologist.
