I take lisinopril, amlodipine and hydralazine for blood pressure management. Is it safe for me to take sea buckthorn? I am a post menopausal female and I've been reading that sea buckthorn helps with vaginal discomfort in post menopausal women.

Doctors' responses

Oral sea buckthorn is generally considered safe with your medications, but it may have mild blood pressure–lowering effects, so it’s worth monitoring your blood pressure when starting it. - generally Topical forms for vaginal dryness are safest.

Sea buckthorn may help vaginal dryness, but it can also lower blood pressure. Since you are already taking BP medicines, take it only after doctor advice (BP may become too low). Shatavari Powder – 1teaspoon with warm milk/water at night Ashokarista 20ml bd af Helps vaginal dryness and menopause symptoms Coconut oil (external use) Apply small amount for dryness and comfort Diet & Lifestyle Drink enough water Eat ghee (small amount daily) Avoid very spicy and dry foods
