Doctors' responses

Hello Asif, have you got your urine tested for UTI? Is the burning only after eating specific foods? Avoid hot foods, spicy, masala, Chinese food, alcohol, tea. Coffee. Drink coconut water twice a day. Water boiled with coriander seeds, cumin seeds should be cooled down and drank throughout the day. Check your blood sugar as well. These are inflammatory Pitta symptoms according to Ayurveda. Tab Gokshuradi guggulu 1-1-1 before food for 7 days but please do a proper consultation with me or any other Ayurvedic doctor for complete resolution.

Burning sensation when passing urine can be quite uncomfortable, but let’s try to figure out what’s going on. It might be a UTI (urinary tract infection), which is pretty common. You gotta get it treated though, cuz if it’s that, it won’t just disappear. If the burning’s super intense or you got fever, or blood in urine, go see a doc ASAP since it could be serious.

Meanwhhile, till you can get proper medical attention, there are a few Ayurvedic principles you can apply. Have you tried drinking more water? I know it sounds simple, but sometimes it helps flush out the bacteria that cause an infection. Aim for a least 8-10 glasses a day.

You might wanna try some barley water too. It’s really soothing and can cool down that burning sensation. Just boil one tablespoon of barley in about two cups of water, then simmer until it reduces by half. Drink it once or twice daily.

Also consider adding some cooling herbs like coriander seeds or cumin seeds to your diet. You could boil them in water and drink the decoction. It’s calming and pacifies excess pitta, which is often involved in urinary discomfort.

Avoid spicy, oily, and fried foods for now, they ain’t gonna help with that burning feeling. Stick to cooling and soothing foods like cucumbers, sugarcane juice, and coconut water. They assist in balancing pitta too.

Caution: If you’re diabetic, be careful with anything sweet, including coconut water.

And, try a sitz bath with Neem leaves. Boil the leaves, mix it in bath water. Sit in it for 15-20 minutes. It’s antibacterial and might offer some relief.

But remember, these tips are supportive. Don’t replace urgent medical care with these if symptoms persist or worsen, you gotta see a healthcare provider soon. It’s crucial. Ayurvedic care can be complementary, but not substitute when you need immediate help. Stay safe and aware!
