How to treat digestive and skin issues that I've had since childhood? - #55537
I have digestive, bowel and skin related issues since my childhood. I'm 20 years old now,I never had proper regular bowels, it's always irregular, sometimes with a gap of 1-2 days also. I used to have a lot of stomach pain in my childhood years. I have been suffering from skin issues for 10+ years now. In 2019-2021, my skin issues were at peak! I got big pimples filled with fluid and 'pus'all over my face and neck and backside of palms too. It took 15 days to settle. I often get rashy, itchy, flaky patches on face (specially near lips area), neck, backside of elbows and knees andon stomach.

From an Ayurvedic perspective, your symptoms suggest a long-standing Vata–Pitta imbalance with weak digestion (Agni) and toxin accumulation (Ama), which often reflects on the skin. Core Approach (Gut + Skin together) 1. Improve digestion (Agni deepana) Take warm, freshly cooked meals only Avoid: fried, spicy, packaged, dairy-heavy and sugary foods Start your day with warm water + fennel or cumin tea 2. Clear toxins (Ama pachana) Use simple herbs like Triphala powder at night (helps bowel regularity) Trikatu (small dose) before meals if digestion is weak (only if acidity is not high) 3. Skin calming (Pitta control) Apply aloe vera gel or neem paste on affected areas Avoid scratching and harsh chemical soaps Use mild, herbal cleanser 4. Diet support Favor: moong dal, rice, bottle gourd, pumpkin, ghee (small amount) Avoid trigger foods you already noticed (very important) 5. Lifestyle Fixed meal timings (very important for bowel regularity) 7–8 hours sleep Light walking daily to improve gut motility Important Ayurvedic understanding Skin issues like acne, itching, and rashes are often a reflection of poor gut clearance and heat imbalance in blood (rakta dhatu dushti). Treating only skin gives temporary relief—digestion must be corrected first.
I understand your concern. Since you are dealing with digestive problems, irregular bowel habits, and chronic skin issues from childhood, this does not look like “just pimples” alone. In Ayurveda, long-standing bowel imbalance and skin inflammation are often deeply connected. The combination of: irregular bowels since childhood, abdominal pain history, recurrent inflammatory pimples with pus, itchy/flaky rashes around lips, elbows, knees, neck, and stomach, suggests a chronic imbalance involving: disturbed digestion (mandagni), toxin accumulation (ama), aggravated pitta + kapha, and possible blood/skin tissue involvement (rakta dushti). Your gut and skin appear strongly linked. Poor bowel clearance and chronic inflammation can continuously trigger skin flares. The flaky itchy patches near: lips, elbows, knees, can sometimes resemble eczema/dermatitis patterns, while pus-filled eruptions suggest inflammatory acne or follicular infection tendency. Because this problem has been ongoing since childhood and affects both gut and skin, you should ideally get: a proper Ayurvedic prakriti assessment, and if not already done, basic investigations like: CBC, vitamin D/B12, thyroid profile, IgE/allergy tendency, stool evaluation if bowel symptoms are severe. A personalized consultation would help determine whether this is more: .eczema-dominant, acne-pitta dominant, fungal, allergy related, or linked to deeper gut inflammation. For detail case history and prevention kindly book personal consultation.
Currently, allopathic medicines are going on and it is under control to much extent, but I want to cure it permanently with the help of ayurveda. I have CBC and other blood test reports.
Please book a personal consultation and share all your reports for a proper assessment and a structured Ayurvedic treatment plan.
