Line of Treatment (Chikitsa Sutra) ​To completely root out this problem, we must focus on three steps: •​Deepana & Pachana: Igniting your digestive fire and digesting the accumulated toxins (Ama). •​Vatanulomana: Directing the trapped gas downward so it clears naturally instead of pushing upward and causing vomiting or pain. •​Mridu Shodhana: Gently cleansing the gastrointestinal tract to remove deep-rooted toxins. ​2. Highly Effective Ayurvedic Formulations ​Since this is a chronic issue, a combination of classical herbo-mineral and herbal medicines is required. You can consult a local physician to start a regime similar to this: ​For Gas, Bloating, and Abdominal Pain (Vatanulomana) •​Maha Shankha Vati: 1 to 2 tablets twice a day, about 30 minutes after meals with lukewarm water. It is excellent for relieving severe gas, heaviness, and abdominal pain. •​Hingwashtak Churna: 1/2 teaspoon twice a day with the first morsel of your food mixed with a little bit of cow’s ghee. It instantly stimulates Agni and prevents gas formation during digestion. •​Shankha Bhasma / Kapardak Bhasma: 250 mg mixed with lukewarm water or a spoonful of honey before meals to soothe stomach pain and regulate the upward movement (Udavarta) that causes vomiting. ••​For Improving Digestion & Cleansing (Agni Deepana) •​Kumaryasava or Chitrakadi Vati: If you prefer a liquid, take 15–20 ml of Kumaryasava with an equal quantity of water after meals. If you prefer tablets, chew 1-2 tablets of Chitrakadi Vati before meals. •​Gandharva Haritaki Churna: 1 teaspoon at bedtime with warm water. This ensures smooth bowel movements the next morning, clearing Apana Vata so gas doesn’t build up during the day. ​3. Dietary Modifications (Aahar) ​No medicine will work permanently unless you change the fuel you put into your body. For the next few weeks, follow a strict Sattvik and Laghu (light) diet: ••​What to Eat: •​Freshly cooked, warm, semi-solid food like Moong Dal Khichdi, Daliya, and bottle gourd (Lauki) or pumpkin (Kaddu) soups. ​Use spices like Cumin (Jeera), Fennel (Saunf), Ginger (Adrak), and Asafetida (Hing) generously in your cooking. •​Drink Buttermilk (Takra) churned with a pinch of roasted cumin powder and black salt during lunchtime. Ayurvedic texts call Takra the nectar of earth for digestive disorders. ••​What to Avoid (Strictly): •​Maida, packed/fried foods, stale food, and heavy lentils (like Rajma, Chole, Urad Dal). ​Raw salads and sprouts (they generate massive amounts of Vata and gas in a weak stomach). •​Cold water, carbonated drinks, and drinking large amounts of water immediately after meals. •Vajrasana: Sit in Vajrasana (Thunderbolt pose) for 10-15 minutes immediately after every meal.
