According to Ayurveda, this appears to be mainly a condition of Agnimandya (weak digestion) with Vata-Kapha imbalance causing gas, bloating, burping, constipation, and abdominal pain. —Rx: 1) Avipattikar Churna – 1 tsp at bedtime with lukewarm water 2) Gasex Tablet – 1 tablet twice daily after meals 3) Hingvashtak Churna – ½ tsp with first morsel of food twice daily —Advice: Light warm diet Avoid spicy, oily, fried, bakery, and cold foods Drink warm water frequently Walk for 10–15 minutes after meals —Pathya: Moong khichdi, jeera-ajwain water, thin dal —Apathya: Fast food, curd at night, carbonated drinks, excess tea/coffee
Taking both Avipattikar Churna and Gasex is generally a highly compatible and effective approach, as they target different facets of your symptoms. 1. Avipattikar Churna (The Acid & Pitta Regulator) ••Primary Action: It is primarily an Amlapittahara formulation (reduces sourness and excess acid). It excels at clearing accumulated heat and metabolic toxins (Ama) from the upper gastrointestinal tract. The Vata Connection: It contains Trivrit (Operculina turpethum), which induces a very mild, therapeutic downward clearance (Mridu Virechana). By clearing the lower bowels, it naturally relieves the upward pressure causing your burping and stomach pain. 2. Gasex (The Carminative & Antiflatulent) ••Primary Action: Formulations like Gasex (typically containing Sunthi, Prativisha, and various Bhasmas) act as Deepana (digestive stimulants) and Vatanulomana (carminatives). ••The Vata Connection: It directly helps break down large gas bubbles in the stomach and intestines, easing the immediate spasmodic pain and bloating. Medicine Dosage Best Time to Take Vehicle (Anupana) Gasex (Tablets) 1 to 2 tablets Post-Meals (15–20 mins after lunch and dinner) Warm water Avipattikar Churna 3 to 5 grams (approx. ½ to 1 tsp) Pre-Meals OR At Bedtime (Depending on whether acidity or morning clearance is the priority) Warm water or a little honey… ••Crucial Dietary Modifications (Ahara-Vihara) Medication will only provide temporary relief if the underlying cause of the Vata imbalance is not addressed. ••Ignite the Agni: Sip on warm ginger water throughout the day. Avoid ice-cold beverages entirely, as they immediately quench the digestive fire. ••Food Consistency: Favor warm, semi-solid, easy-to-digest foods (like Khichdi or cooked vegetables with a small amount of Ghee) for the next 48 hours. Avoid raw salads, sprouted grains, and heavy lentils (like Rajma or Chana), which drastically increase Vata in the gut. ••Habit Correction: Avoid talking while eating or eating in a rushed manner, as this increases air swallowing (Aerophagia), directly worsening the burping.
