Eczema, or Vicharchika, is primarily caused by an imbalance in the Kapha and Pitta doshas, though Vata also plays a role. These doshas control different aspects of the body:

Kapha Dosha: Governs moisture and stability in the body. An imbalance in Kapha can lead to fluid retention, swelling, thickened skin, and oozing lesions—symptoms often seen in the weeping form of eczema.

Pitta Dosha: Responsible for heat and metabolism. When Pitta is aggravated, it causes inflammation, redness, itching, and a burning sensation, all common features of eczema.

Medications -

Neem - antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, and blood-purifying properties. It helps cleanse the blood, reduces itching, and soothes irritated skin. Khadriaristha-15-20 ml bd Manjistha powder-5g bd Aloevera gel - for local application

Detoxification and Panchakarma Therapies - Like Virechana and Vaman

Lifestyle changes - Drinking warm water and herbal teas like ginger tea helps support digestion and flush toxins from the body. Proper hydration is essential for maintaining skin moisture and preventing dryness. Dinacharya - Following a consistent daily routine, including regular meals, proper sleep, and mindful eating, helps maintain digestive health and prevent the accumulation of Ama.

Hello Amira, I’m sorry to hear about the discomfort you’re experiencing. In Ayurveda, your symptoms may indicate an imbalance in the Pitta dosha, which governs heat, metabolism, and skin health. To offer a proper treatment plan, I would need to know more about your health history. Have you noticed any specific triggers that worsen the itching, such as certain foods, weather conditions, or stress? Do you have any other symptoms like redness, rashes, or dry patches on the skin? It would also be helpful to know if you’ve experienced any digestive issues, as Ayurveda links skin conditions to the digestive system. Are you currently using any topical treatments, and have you consulted with any dermatologists for an underlying skin condition?

Namaste Amira Ji,

Your symptoms indicate a strong Pitta-Vata imbalance in Ayurveda. Excess Pitta (heat) in the blood causes burning sensations and itching, while Vata (dryness) leads to flaky and irritated skin. This needs both internal detoxification and external cooling therapies. • Neem ghan vati – Powerful blood purifier to stop itching. Take 1 tab twice daily . Tab.kaishora guggulu 1 tab twice daily after food • Aloe Vera Juice (15 ml daily) • Triphala Churna (½ tsp at bedtime) • Drink coconut water & buttermilk daily to cool the body. • Eat light, cooling foods (cucumber, ghee, sweet fruits, green leafy vegetables). • Avoid spicy, fried, fermented, and processed foods that aggravate Pitta. • Increase water intake; drink coriander & fennel seed water to cool the blood.

1. Herbal Bath (Soothing for Skin Irritation) • Add neem leaves, sandalwood powder, and rose petals to warm bath water. • Soak for 15-20 minutes daily to reduce itching. • Kumkumadi Tailam or Coconut Oil + Sandalwood Powder – Apply before bed for cooling and hydration. • Aloe Vera Gel + Turmeric Paste – Apply to affected areas for instant relief.

•	Use cotton, loose-fitting clothes to prevent sweating and irritation.
•	Avoid hot showers & sun exposure (Pitta increases with heat).
•	Apply a cold towel or rose water spray when feeling hot & itchy

With consistent Ayurvedic care, your skin will regain its natural coolness and comfort.

Best Regards, Dr. M. Sushma (Ayurvedic Consultant)

Sounds like you’re dealing with what’s known as atopic eczema. It can be quite stubborn, sorry to hear you’re going through this! From an Ayurvedic perspective, this condition often relates to an imbalance of Pitta dosha, with its traits of heat and irritation showing up in your skin.

First thing’s first: cooling down that Pitta. You wanna start with your diet, load up on cooling and hydrating foods like cucumber, melon, and leafy greens. Avoid spicy, hot, and fried foods, they can trigger and irritate your system more. Drink coconut water, it’s great for hydration and cooling.

Herbs can help too. Try applying aloe vera gel directly on the skin, it’s soothing and calming. Neem is another big one in Ayurveda, with its cooling and antimicrobial properties. You could steep a few neem leaves in hot water, let it cool, and use it as a rinse on the affected areas.

You might also like to give Ayurveda’s calming staple Ashwagandha a go. It works wonders for stress, which often aggravates eczema. You can consume it in powder form or capsules, just keep in mind, consistency in using it is key.

Bath time can be therapeutic too. Adding oatmeal or baking soda to your baths could ease those itchy vibes. Keep 'em lukewarm though, not hot! Heat makes the situation worse for Pitta folks.

Lifestyle tweaks could also matter. Aim for a routine that ensures enough rest—night itching is a common issue with Pitta aggravation. Maybe some relaxing breathing exercises like Anulom Vilom can help balance that internal fire before bed. Slow, deep breathing eases the mind and helps you zone into a relaxed state.

If you notice this gets worse, or it’s spreading too rapidly, you oughta reach out to a healthcare professional. Eczema can sometimes need a derm’s insight. Stay patient, it takes some time to find what works, how your body responds to different approaches.
