I am really trying to figure out how to make bitter gourd juice for diabetic patients. Recently, my dad was diagnosed with diabetes, and I've heard a lot about the benefits of bitter gourd juice. I want to help him manage his blood sugar levels naturally, but I'm kinda lost here! The other day, I went to the market, picked up some fresh bitter gourds, and looked for some quick recipes. Everyone keeps saying bitter gourd is great but no one really explains how to make bitter gourd juice for diabetic patients in a simple way. Do you peel the skin or leave it on? Should I add anything to mask the bitterness a little? I even tried blending it with water, but it tasted so rough! I'm worried he'll hate it and not drink it regularly. Has anyone found a super easy way to prepare this with good results? I’m hoping to make it a part of his daily routine but don't wanna mess it up.

First, when you get fresh bitter gourds from the market, give them a good wash under running water. For diabetic patients, using the entire gourd is ideal — skin, seeds and all, as this maintains the nutritional value. Slice them in half and scoop out the seeds if they seem to be too mature; you can keep some for added fiber, though.

To soften the inherent bitterness, you might soak the sliced gourds in water for 30 minutes or sprinkle a bit of salt on them, then rinse well afterward.

Now for the juice: Chop the slices into smaller pieces and toss them into a blender or juicer. Add a little water to help with the blending, not too much, just enough to get a smooth blend. To balance the flavor, you might add a hint of lemon juice or a small piece of ginger. Ginger not only complements the flavor but also provides additional health benefits.
