I am feeling kinda confused about how to consume honey in the right way. Last month, I went to this Ayurvedic retreat and they raved about honey being like, nature's miracle, you know? But then when I got home, I looked up different ways and I’m not sure what’s really best. Like, I tried mixing it with warm water and lemon for breakfast, but I think I might’ve overdone it because my stomach was iffy after. I heard how to consume honey can affect its benefits, like if it's mixed with hot stuff, it loses some nutrients or something? My friend also said adding it to herbal tea is good, but I’m worried that I’m not getting the full advantage. I dunno if I should just spoon it straight or what. Does that even work?! Since I have some mild allergies and gut issues, can those impact how to consume honey? Also, is there a specific time of day that’s better for taking honey? Maybe I’m missing the point completely! Any advice on the best ways to actually use it, like what’s tasty and beneficial, would be super helpful. Thanks!

Start with about half a teaspoon; that should be sufficient. If you’re pairing it with lemon, ensure the lemon juice isn’t too sour, as that can sometimes irritate the stomach lining.

If you suspect allergies or gut issues, you must approach this with care. Honey can sometimes trigger allergic reactions, espially if it’s raw or unprocessed. Having just a teaspoon may see how your body reacts, and watch for any symptoms.

Regarding when to consume honey, many find it beneficial in the morning, as it can provide a natural energy boost and aid digestion. Or, if a small teaspoon before bed is better for you, for its soothing properties.
