I am really confused about this concept of virya in Ayurveda. A few months ago, I started feeling really low on energy and my digestion has been off, you know? I did some research and came across the term virya, but I'm not sure exactly what is virya and how it relates to my health issues. My friend mentioned that it's about potency and energy in herbal remedies or something, but I’m just lost. Does it only pertain to herbs? Like, can virya affect everyday food choices too? Also, I've noticed that when I eat certain foods—like spicy stuff or really oily things—I tend to feel more sluggish, which kinda makes me think there's something about virya at play here. Is virya the reason traditional foods are seen as more nourishing? I'm wondering if maybe I’m not paying enough attention to the virya of the meals I pick?
