Testicular torsion - #17505
Last week, I woke up in the middle of the night with this sudden, unbearable pain in my lower abdomen and groin area. It was so bad that I couldn't even stand properly. I thought it might be a muscle strain, but the pain kept getting worse, and my left testicle looked swollen. I waited a few hours, thinking it would go away on its own, but by morning, I felt nauseous and even started sweating from the pain. When I finally went to the hospital, the doctor immediately suspected testicular torsion. They explained that it happens when the spermatic cord twists and cuts off blood flow to the testicle. I had to get surgery right away to fix it. The doctor said if I had waited longer, there was a high chance of losing the testicle. Now, even though the surgery was successful, I still feel occasional discomfort, and there’s a dull ache in that area. I want to understand if Ayurveda has any remedies for preventing testicular torsion or helping with recovery after surgery. Are there any Ayurvedic oils or herbal treatments that can help with post-surgery healing and reduce inflammation in that area? Also, is there any specific diet or lifestyle change I should follow to avoid any complications? I read that imbalances in Vata can cause issues related to movement and circulation in the body. Could testicular torsion be related to a Vata imbalance? Would Panchakarma or any Ayurvedic therapy be useful in strengthening the reproductive system to prevent such issues in the future? Also, do Ayurvedic practitioners recommend any particular yoga postures or exercises that can help with better circulation in that region? I don’t want to go through that kind of pain again, and I’m looking for natural ways to support my recovery. Any Ayurvedic insights on how to maintain testicular health and avoid testicular torsion would be really helpful.
