Dear Anand, Your symptoms of bloating, gas, wheezing, and nasal congestion indicate an imbalance in Vata and Kapha doshas, along with weakened Agni (digestive fire). Ayurveda sees digestion as the key to overall health, and when digestion is weak, toxins (Ama) accumulate, leading to gas, bloating, and respiratory issues. Reducing alcohol was a great step, but smoking can still increase Kapha, weaken lung function, and disturb digestion. Gradually cutting it down while strengthening digestion can help relieve both bloating and bronchitis. To improve digestion, focus on warm, light, and easily digestible foods. Favor cooked vegetables, moong dal khichdi, and soups, while avoiding raw foods, dairy, fried items, and cold drinks, as they aggravate bloating and mucus buildup. Spices like cumin, ajwain, hing, ginger, and fennel can help relieve gas and improve metabolism. Drinking warm water or herbal teas (cumin, coriander, and fennel tea) after meals can further support digestion. Taking Triphala churna (½ tsp with warm water at night) can help cleanse the gut and regulate bowel movements. For lung health and congestion, Ayurveda recommends Sitopaladi churna with honey, which helps break down mucus and improve breathing. Hingvastak churna before meals (¼ tsp with warm water) can reduce bloating and aid digestion. Daily Abhyanga (self-massage) with warm sesame oil, especially on the stomach and chest, can help balance Vata and improve circulation. Pranayama (breathing exercises) like Anulom Vilom and Kapalbhati are excellent for clearing lung congestion and improving oxygen flow. Consistency is key in Ayurveda—by following these diet, lifestyle, and herbal recommendations, you can naturally strengthen digestion and reduce bloating while improving respiratory health. If symptoms persist, consulting an Ayurvedic doctor for personalized guidance would be beneficial. Wishing you good health and balance ahead!

Chronic bronchitis and digestive issues like bloating, flatulence, and gas can be aggravated by smoking, alcohol, and an imbalanced diet. Ayurveda suggests quitting smoking gradually and detoxifying the lungs with Sitopaladi Churna, Vasaka (Adhatoda), and Yashtimadhu (Licorice) tea to reduce wheezing and congestion. Steam inhalation with eucalyptus oil and Nasya therapy (applying Anu Taila in nostrils) can help with nasal blockage. For digestion, Hingvashtak Churna, Triphala, and jeera-ajwain tea can reduce bloating and gas. Avoid heavy, oily, and processed foods, and eat warm, light meals with ginger and fennel. Daily pranayama (Anulom Vilom, Bhastrika) and mild yoga can strengthen both lungs and digestion. Reducing smoking further and making lifestyle changes will significantly improve your condition. Let me know if you need a detailed plan.

Chronic bronchitis mixed with stomach troubles like bloating and gas – I get why you're feeling rough. Let's try and break this down in a way that's useful, without too much fluff, yeah? So, here's my take, using my knowledge of Ayurvedic principles. First off, the smoking and past alcohol have probably taken a toll on your respiratory and digestive systems. They can mess with your agni – that digestive fire – and might be pushing your Vata dosha outta balance, which translates to bloating and gas. So, really think about cutting down or, better yet, stopping altogether. It's tough, but your lungs and stomach will seriously thank you. Look into your diet – favor cooked, warm meals instead of raw foods, which might aggravate your stomach. Think moist and oily, like soups or khichadi, to soothe your digestive tract. Spices like cumin, fennel, and ginger can stoke your agni without inflaming it. Careful on the spicy side, though. And, small meals are great. It's better to give your stomach little tasks throughout the day than one big one it can't handle. On that runny nose, chronic wheezing stuff, try Nasya. That's nasal oil therapy. Drop a couple drops of anu taila or sesame oil in each nostril daily. Do it in the morning, in a peaceful, less rushed moment. Breathing exercises like Pranayama are gold. Alternate nostril breathing is super calming and good for the lungs. Aim for consistency, a few mins each day, before you've started your day or wrapped it up – whatever works. Stay hydrated, but go easy on cold drinks, opt for warm water or herbal teas. Trikatu churna (a mix with ginger, black pepper) taken before meals in small amounts can bolster digestion. But if things get worse, don't put it off, see a physician. Sometimes Ayurveda and modern medicine go best hand in hand. Give it your best shot and be patient with yourself; healing ain't always a straight path.
