It sounds like your son is navigating through a challenging time with his bipolar disorder and associated symptoms. While he's already on a regimen with Ashwagandha, Healthy Vata, Calm mind, and sleep formulations, introducing Brahmi and Shankhapushpi can indeed be a beneficial addition to support mental focus and cognitive functions. Brahmi, known for its profound impact on the mind, helps in enhancing memory and concentration. Just a teaspoon of Brahmi powder mixed with a little warm water or milk, taken in the morning on an empty stomach, can be quite effective. It’s gentle yet potent in promoting clarity and calming the mind without inducing drowsiness. Shankhapushpi is another excellent herb specifically aimed at neuro-calming and rejuvenating the nervous system. It's often recommended for supporting mental health and emotional balance. Taking it in the evening with warm water or a milk, it could help in settling the nervous system and enhancing sleep quality, indirectly aiding better cognitive function during the day. However, as with any regimen, it's crucial to introduce these slowly and observe how he responds. Since he's already on certain formulations, watching out for any digestive changes or mood shifts will be helpful. It's also wise to ensure that these herbs don't lead to any over-sedation or affect his current medications, if he is taking any. Furthermore, focusing on a balanced diet that includes ghee, nuts, green leafy vegetables can complement these herbs and further nourish the brain and mood. Regular routine like going to sleep and waking up on time, having meals on a regular schedule and gentle yoga or meditation, can stabilize Vata dosha, which often gets imbalanced in bipolar conditions. But if there are any severe symptoms or sudden changes in his condition, it's essential to seek immediate professional medical attention. Monitoring changes in his state with your primary doctor ensures he receives the most appropriate and safe guidance.
