Nibhanjan cream is usually marketed as an Ayurvedic pigmentation / dark circle cream. However, many pigmentation creams (even Ayurvedic ones) may contain: Strong herbal extracts Essential oils Sometimes hidden steroids or chemical actives (in some brands) ❗ Important in First Trimester During the first 3 months, baby’s organs are forming. Even topical products can get absorbed in small amounts. 👉 If ingredients are not clearly mentioned and safety in pregnancy is not established — avoid it. Especially avoid if it contains: Retinoids Strong essential oils Salicylic acid (high concentration) Steroid combinations 🌿 Why You Have Pigmentation Now During pregnancy, due to hormones: 1️⃣ Melasma Melasma Commonly called “pregnancy mask.” 2️⃣ Dark Circles Due to: Hormonal changes Low iron Poor sleep Increased blood volume This is very common in first trimester. ✅ What Is Safe in First Trimester? ✔️ 1.
