Doctors’ responses

Hemangioma is common in infants, usually it’s like a birth mark, they look like strawberry so the name is, but do not worry initially Dey seem growing but gradually as the child grows they start shrink and disappear, so not touch that area like touching frequently or rubbing or applying anything, just leave lik that , that’s it

Don't worry about it It will disappear on its own

Nothing to worry about this. Just apply castor oil locally on the hemangioma at bedtime

Strawberry hemangioma, quite common in infants, often resolves on its own without any intervention over the first several years of life. However, understanding your concern for a more integrated approach, there are some Ayurvedic perspectives and supportive measures that might be beneficial in managing the condition, ensuring the best outcome possible. According to Ayurveda, such benign vascular growths can be linked to Pitta imbalances, as they deal with blood and skin problems. One way to address this is through diet, lifestyle and herbal supports that balance Pitta. You might consider incorporating more cooling foods into your daughter's diet like cucumber, lettuce and coconut water. Avoid overly spicy, sour, or salty foods which may aggravate Pitta. In terms of lifestyle, ensure that she is maintaining a balanced daily routine with adequate but not too intense activity, as well as consistent rest. Gentle massage using coconut oil can be soothing for the skin without over-stimulating the hemangioma area. Herbal application might be another path to explore. A gentle application of Aloe Vera gel can be beneficial due to its cooling effect, but be sure to test it on a small area first to check for any reactions. Another option could be 'Guduchi' (Tinospora Cordifolia), as it is a known supporter for the immune system and balancing Pitta. It's crucial to keep monitoring the condition in consultation with your pediatrician or dermatologist. If the hemangioma appears to be growing rapidly or causing any physical issues, seek immediate medical advice. Ayurveda can support general health and well-being but not replace medical intervention when necessary. Always consult with a qualified Ayurvedic practitioner before starting any new treatments.
