Dealing with ACNE - #20865

Lawrence Okaki

How do I deal with ACNE and achieve a very smooth and brown face. I was told I have an oily face. Pimples keep growing for a person of my age which is not good. I am on a keto diet and it has helped reduce their growth. Which Ayurvedic drug or approaches do I use to attain a very smooth face without any ACNE.

I want a smooth face without wrinkles or spots

Use all of them or just pick one. I am grateful of the response but it's not clear whether I should use all the drugs or just one

The challenge you're facing with acne, particularly with an oily skin type, is one that can indeed be addressed with Ayurvedic wisdom. Acne often relates to an imbalance in the Pitta dosha, as it pertains to excessive heat and oiliness in the body. Considering this, we’ll want to cool and pacify Pitta, while balancing Kapha to reduce the excess oil and congestion. Firstly, since you're on a keto diet, it’s good to keep in mind that while reducing carbs can sometimes help, ensure you're not consuming excessive greasy or heavy foods, even if they're low in carbs. Ayurveda suggests incorporating foods like cucumbers, watermelon, and kokos water—hydrating, cooling agemts that can help soothe inflammation. For external application, consider making a gentle face pack using sandalwood powder and rose water. Sandalwood is excellent for calming Pitta and reducing inflammation. Mix into a paste and apply it to your face a few times a week, leave it on for about 15-20 mins before rinsing. It's is great way to tone and rejuvenate the skin. Internally, try sipping on fennel seed tea through the day. Fennel is simple yet effective, helping to reduce heat and cleanse the skin from the inside. Boil one teaspoon of fennel seeds in a cup of water, strain, and drink when slightly warm. Turmeric is another Pitta pacifying herb, with natural antibacterial properties. Consider taking half a teaspoon of turmeric mixed with warm water or milk daily. Just be wary of taking it on an empty stomach. For long-term benefit, consider adopting a routine of cleansing and moisturizing. Use a light herbal cleanser followed by aloe vera gel as it is light, cooling, and non-comedogenic. Sticking to a regular sleep schedule and avoiding stress is crucial as both factors can flare acne. Remember, if your condition worsens or feels severe, do consult a dermatologist to rule out any underlying medical conditions. Ayurveda can assist greatly but it’s crucial it’s part of comprehensive holistic approach.
