Irregular periods, especially with a PCOD (Polycystic Ovarian Disease) diagnosis, can be challenging when you’re trying to conceive. An endometrium thickness of 3.5 mm is somewhat on the thinner side for implantation, which generally requires a fuller lining. It’s crucial to address both the PCOD and the endometrial thickness in holistic manner. Ayurveda can offer support, but it’s essential to be patient, as natural remedies often take a little time to show effects.
From an Ayurvedic perspective, PCOD is often linked to imbalances in the Kapha and Vata doshas. To address this, consider incorporating these practices:
1. Diet: Favor a diet that’s balanced with warm, cooked foods and spices like turmeric, ginger, and cinnamon which can enhance Agni (digestive fire), supporting metabolism and hormonal function. Try reducing cold, processed, and sugary foods, as they may increase Kapha.
2. Herbs: Certain Ayurvedic herbs like Ashokarishta, Shatavari and Lodhra are known for supporting reproductive health. Consult with a qualified Ayurvedic practitioner for personalized doses.
3. Routine: Regularity is key. Aim for a consistent daily routine, including regular meals, sleep, and gentle exercise like yoga. Yoga poses such as Bhujangasana (Cobra pose) and Dhanurasana (Bow pose) can be helpful in stimulating ovarian function.
4. Uttar Basti: This is a specialized Ayurvedic therapy that involves the administration of medicated oils or decoctions through the vaginal canal, often used for gynecological issues. It’s essential to approach treatments like this with the guidance of an Ayurvedic doctor.
In regards to allopathic medicine, if you’re concerned about timing and getting quicker results, it might be wise to consult with an allopathy doctor too. They can provide options like hormonal medications which might give quicker results but could have side effects.
Remember, a holistic approach often can combine the best of both worlds - Ayurveda and allopathy. Make sure to communicate openly with your healthcare providers about all treatments you’re considering. Patience and persistence are key, it could take some time to see results.
