Considering your symptoms, dizziness when lying down and lightheadedness when standing, alongside neck pain, it might indicate an imbalance in Vata dosha. In Ayurveda, Vata governs movement and is known to affect balance and equilibrium. It’s crucial to focus on calming this dosha through diet, lifestyle, and specific therapies. First, let's talk about diet. Incorporate warm, nourishing foods. Cooked vegetables, soups, and stews are ideal — think sweet potatoes, carrots, and squash. Avoid cold foods, raw vegetables, and heavy-to-digest items like beans. Ghee and sesame oil are particularly beneficial to pacify Vata. Incorporate spices like ginger, cumin, and cardamom to aid digestion. Lifestyle will play an important role here too. Routine is key for balancing Vata. Try going to bed and waking up at the same time every day, getting enough rest is essential! Engage in grounding activities such as gentle yoga or slow walks—avoid vigorous exercises, which may exacerbate Vata imbalance. Neck pain could be related to tension or poor posture. Regular gentle neck exercises could help. Rotate your neck slowly, avoiding any sudden movements which might worsen pain. A warm oil massage with sesame oil on the neck and shoulders might offer relief, twice a day if possible. Since you’re taking betahistine, I assume a healthcare provider is involved. Continue with their advice and consider discussing any persistent issues. In Ayurveda, Panchakarma therapies like Nasya or Shirodhara would enhance results but should be done under professional guidance, so seek an experienced Ayurvedic practitioner for these. Lastly, if dizziness worsens or symptoms like severe headache or neurological issues arise, seek immediate medical help. Safety is the priority, and balance can be restored gradually with care and patience.
