Premature greying suggests Pitta-Vata imbalance, weak liver function, nutritional deficiencies, or hereditary factors. Since topical remedies haven’t worked, we need to focus on internal healing, diet, and stress management along with external care. Amla (Indian Gooseberry) + Brahmi + Bhringraj Powder – Take ½ tsp daily with warm water to nourish hair from within. • Ashwagandha -1/2 tsp with warm milk at night • Triphala (½ tsp at bedtime) • Curry Leaves (Kadi Patta) Juice or Powder –take with buttermilk or warm water. Eat black sesame seeds + jaggery (1 tsp daily). Drink fresh Amla juice or consume raw Amla daily. Include ghee, soaked almonds, walnuts, dates, and coconut in your diet. Avoid spicy, fermented, and processed foods, as they worsen Pitta. Henna + Indigo Powder – Natural remedy for greying (if you want to darken the hair naturally). Rinse hair with black tea or curry leaf water.

Premature greying, hair dullness, and problems like split ends often signify an imbalance in the body's dosha, primarily affecting the pitta dosha. Hair health in Ayurveda is closely linked to the state of the doshas and the nourishment of the dhatus or body tissues. Here’s what you could possibly consider for enhancing the vitality of your hair: Start by addressing your diet — it plays a huge role in hair health. You may want to include foods that are rich in antioxidants, Vitamins B12, D and E, and minerals such as iron and zinc. Consuming green leafy vegetables, nuts (like almond and walnuts), seeds (such as flaxseeds and pumpkin seeds), and whole grains can be beneficial. Oil massage is another beneficial practice in Ayurveda. Opt for warm coconut or sesame oil and gently massage your scalp at least twice a week to nourish the scalp and promote hair growth. Adding herbs like Amla (Indian gooseberry), Bhringraj, and Brahmi to the oil can enhance its properties. Warm up the oil slightly and then massage it gently. It helps improve circulation and also nourishes the hair follicles. For hair wash, try using a natural herbal shampoo or homemade remedies like a mixture of Reetha (soapnut), Shikakai, and Amla powders. Mix equal parts of these powders with water, apply it as a paste on your scalp after oil massage, and rinse thoroughly. These are natural cleansers and contribute to reducing hair fall and add natural shine to the hair. Additionally, maintain a regular routine that reduces stress, as high stress is a notorious contributor to hair problems, including greying. Pranayama and meditation are effective practices that help balance the mind and relieve stress. Also, ensure adequate sleep of about 7-8 hours, which is crucial for hair rejuvenation. Excessive use of chemical-laden products can lead to hair dryness and split ends, so try to minimize the use of such products. If possible, avoid exposure to extreme heat like hair dryers or styling tools, as they can cause further damage to hair. If the health of your hair is not improving despite these measures, it may be prudent to consult with a qualified Ayurvedic practitioner or healthcare professional, as there could be underlying health issues that need attention.
