Should I take shilajit in the morning or at night for best results? - #22326

Jackson

I am trying to figure out the best time to take shilajit. I've heard so much about its benefits, but honestly, I'm a bit confused. Should i take shilajit in the morning or at night? I've been struggling with low energy lately and someone suggested shilajit could help boost my stamina. But, I've read mixed opinions about the timing. Some people say mornings are best because it can give you a kickstart, while others say night is better for recovery. I mean, when I tried it once in the afternoon, it kinda made me feel restless, so I'm hesitant to do that again. I'm also worried about how my body will react if I take it too late. Last week, I took it before bed and ended up counting sheep all night instead of sleeping! So, now I'm lost. Do I need to take it every day? And what if i mix it with something? I heard it pairs well with warm milk, but is that even a good idea? I wish I knew exactly how to use shilajit properly! Any advice would be great, thanks!

Given your concerns about energy and the restlessness you felt, the timing of shilajit can be quite important. Shilajit, a powerful rejuvenative substance in Ayurveda, helps in enhancing stamina and vitality, but it should be used thoughtfully. Morning intake is recommended if you generally feel low on energy. Taking a shilajit supplement with warm water or milk in the morning can support your vitality throughout the day without interfering with sleep. Since you've felt restlessness taking it in the afternoon or evening before, it's clear your body might be sensitive to its energizing effects. Taking shilajit at night isn't generally advised for everyone, espeically those who experience difficulties sleeping. However, some find it aids in recovery through its adaptogenic properties, assisting the body's natural repair processes — but, as you've noticed, this doesn't apply to everyone. Mixing shilajit with warm milk is indeed beneficial if you're seeking to balance vata dosha (air and space elements) and promote grounding. Milk can have calming properties, but caffeine-sensitive individuals or those with kapha (earth and water elements) dominance should perhaps avoid or limit dairy intake. Consider starting with a small dose in the morning, assess how you feel after a week or so. If it aligns well with your needs, and energy levels, then continue. Every-day use isn't necessary unless you're trying to address specific health goals like chronic fatigue. It's vital to listen to your body and consult with an Ayurvedic practitioner for personalized advice, especially as dosha imbalances, agni (digestive fire), and your prakriti (constitution) influence how supplements interact with your body. This way, you can use shilajit more effectively and safely integrate it into your routine without negative effects.
