Can Shatavari Help Improve Low AMH Levels Naturally? - #2242

Anonymously

I’m 34, and my doctor told me I have low AMH levels, which makes it harder to conceive. My AMH is at 0.8 ng/ml, and it’s been so stressful since I’ve been trying to get pregnant for two years now. The doctor suggested IVF, but I’m not ready for it yet. I want to try natural remedies first. A friend mentioned Shatavari as an Ayurvedic herb for improving fertility and balancing hormones. I’ve started taking it in powder form with milk at night, but I’m not sure if it’s the right dosage or if it will actually help improve AMH. Some websites say it helps with egg quality too—is that true? Are there other Ayurvedic treatments or herbs that can support low AMH? Should I combine Shatavari with any specific diet or yoga practices? I just want to know if there’s a holistic way to increase my chances before going for medical procedures.

Shatavari is a well-known herb in Ayurveda for supporting female reproductive health and balancing hormones, and it can help with issues like low AMH by nourishing the ovaries and supporting overall fertility. It is often recommended for women trying to conceive, as it is considered a rejuvenating herb that helps enhance egg quality, improve hormone balance, and support the menstrual cycle. The typical dosage is around 1-2 teaspoons of Shatavari powder with warm milk or water, but it’s important to follow the guidance of your healthcare provider or an Ayurvedic practitioner for your specific needs. Alongside Shatavari, other herbs like Ashwagandha (to reduce stress and balance hormones), and Guduchi (for immune support) can also be beneficial. A diet rich in healthy fats, whole grains, and foods that nourish the reproductive system—like ghee, nuts, seeds, and leafy greens—can complement these herbs. Yoga practices that focus on pelvic health, like gentle stretches, pranayama (breathing exercises), and poses such as the butterfly pose (Baddha Konasana) or forward bends, can also improve circulation to the reproductive organs and reduce stress. It’s important to be patient, as holistic treatments often take time, but they can provide supportive benefits. If you’re looking for a more personalized approach, consulting an Ayurvedic practitioner would be ideal to tailor treatments to your individual needs.
