Losing hair at a young age, especially experiencing hairfall on the upper side and a receding hairline, can be concerning. First, let's explore potential causes through the lens of Ayurveda, which often associates hair health with the balance of the doshas, particularly Pitta dosha. Increased Pitta can lead to hair issues like hairfall and thinning. Imbalances might arise from factors like stress, diet, lifestyle habits, or even genetics. To address the Pitta imbalance, consider cooling and calming Pitta through diet and lifestyle changes. Start by incorporating foods that help balance this dosha: consume more sweet, bitter, and astringent tastes. Include cooling foods like cucumbers, leafy greens, fresh fruits, particularly sweet ones like melons and grapes. Avoid hot, spicy, and oily foods. Reducing caffeine and alcohol is also beneficial. On a more tangible front, focus on scalp care. A gentle head massage with coconut oil or bhringraj oil can nourish hair follicles and improve blood circulation. Do this 2 to 3 times a week. Applying aloe vera gel to the scalp can also provide soothing and cooling effects. Practicing stress management techniques such as yoga and pranayama can further stabilize your doshas. Try incorporating practices like meditation and deep breathing exercises into your daily routine. Aim for at least 15 minutes a day to notice a difference. If dandruff or dryness accompanies hairfall, consider using herbal hair masks made from amla, or fenugreek seed paste once a week. It's good for nourishing the scalp and improving hair texture over time. Since you're noticing significant changes, it might be wise to consult a specialist. Ensure that there aren't any underlying health conditions, like nutritional deficiencies, that might need attention. Remember, while Ayurveda offers a holistic approach, it's essential to explore all potential causes and treatments with a health professional.
