can i take shilajit empty stomach - #24012

Lily

I am really confused about this whole thing with shilajit. I've been feeling super tired lately, like really low energy, and someone suggested I try shilajit. I read a bit online and it sounds pretty great for boosting energy and supporting overall health! But then I came across a post that said, “can I take shilajit empty stomach?” I thought it’s supposed to be good, but like, would that even work? Last week I took it after breakfast and felt a bit weird, like my stomach wasn’t sure how to process it. I wondered if taking it empty would’ve been better? I mean, I really want to see if shilajit can help me feel more energized because I’ve got work and stuff, but I don’t want to feel sick or anything. If shilajit has different effects when taken on empty, then I should know, right? Should I try giving it another go without food? Would love to hear any thoughts or experiences you guys might have about this!

Taking shilajit is indeed a popular choice for boosting energy and vitality, as it's known in Ayurveda for its rejuvenative properties. Specifically, shilajit is often advised for its ability to enhance energy, support metabolic functions, and promote overall health. However, when it comes to the right timing of taking shilajit—on an empty stomach or with food—it can depend on a few factors, including your individual constitution or prakriti, your digestive fire (agni), and any current imbalances (vikruti) you may have. Generally, shilajit can be consumed on an empty stomach to enhance its absorbability and efficacy, since the body can assimilate it more effectively without competing with the digestion of food. It can be mixed with warm milk or water for better digestive ease, which is essential, particularly if your digestive fire needs support. However, some individuals, especially those with weak digestion or a sensitive stomach, may experience discomfort if taken completely on an empty stomach. In such cases, it might be beneficial to take it after a light meal or some warm milk, ensuring better tolerance. Considering you felt discomfort when you took it after breakfast, perhaps it was too soon post-meal, or the breakfast itself was a bit heavy. You might want to try again with a smaller gap or a very light meal to see if it makes a difference. Additionally, starting with a smaller dose of shilajit can be helpful to observe how your body reacts before gradually increasing the quantity, while always ensuring high-quality and genuine shilajit is used due to varying market products. Always listen to your body. If shilajit continues to cause unease, it could mean it's not suitable for you at this moment, or there are deeper underlying issues to address. It could also be valuable to consult with a knowledgeable Ayurvedic practitioner for personalized guidance based on a detailed assessment of your condition and constitution. Remember, individual experiences can vary significantly, and what's best for one person mightn't work the same for another.
