Mukesh Joshi

Hi there! I am 43.There have been an issue of wrinkles on my face specifically under my eyes (very visible and broad) and some newly formed wrinkles on my forehead.I hardly go in sun b coz I work from home. I underwent a Botox treatment in 2017. Since it is so costly so I refrain to do it again. Could you please advise me the best possible ayurvedic treatment. Thank you

The appearance of wrinkles, especially under the eyes and on the forehead, often relates to factors like natural aging, dehydration, and collagen loss. In Ayurveda, this can be associated with a Vata imbalance, which can contribute to dryness and the appearance of lines. Here are some authentic Ayurvedic recommendations to manage these signs of aging:

1. Diet and Hydration: Ensure you’re consuming a balanced diet rich in antioxidants, which are found in fruits and vegetables like amla, berries, and leafy greens. Keeping your body hydrated is crucial, aim to drink at least 8-10 glasses of water daily.

2. Oils for Skin Nourishment: Regularly massaging your face with natural oils such as almond oil or sesame oil can help in replenishing the skin’s moisture. Gently apply the oil around your eyes and forehead in circular motions every night before bed.

3. Herbal Masks: Use a simple mask made of ripe banana pulp, which is rich in potassium and moisture. Mash a small piece of ripe banana and apply it on the affected areas. Leave it on for 15-20 minutes, then rinse with lukewarm water.

4. Triphala Powder: Consume a pinch of Triphala, an Ayurvedic herbal remedy, with warm water before bed. It can work as a natural detoxifying agent, supporting healthy skin.

5. Lifestyle: Manage stress by integrating relaxation techniques like meditation or yoga into your daily routine. This can positively influence your skin by balancing your stress levels.

6. Rest: Adequate sleep is essential for skin repair and rejuvenation. Try getting 7-9 hours of sleep each night to help your skin naturally restore itself.

7. Sun Protection: Even though you’re mostly indoors, protect your skin from occasional sun exposure with a light, natural sunscreen or wear a wide-brimmed hat if going outside.

8. Avoid Smoking and Limit Alcohol: Smoking can contribute to skin aging, and limiting alcohol will help in keeping your skin hydrated.

Implemen these recommendations consistently, and you may observe an improvement in the texture and appearance of your skin over time. If any irritation occurs, discontinue use and consult with an Ayurvedic professional for personalized guidance.
