Dealing with acne scars, especially when you have oily skin, requires a comprehensive approach in Ayurveda that not only targets the scars but also aims to balance your skin type and reduce future breakouts. The key here is to address the underlying dosha imbalance, primarily focusing on Kapha and Pitta doshas, which are often responsible for oily, acne-prone skin.

Firstly, let’s talk about diet. It’s crucial to reduce intake of heavy, oily foods that increase Kapha. Opt for a diet rich in fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains, and avoid excessive sugars and dairy products. Incorporating bitter and astringent foods like leafy greens can help in detoxifying your skin. Staying hydrated is another aspect; drink warm water throughout the day, possibly infused with herbs like cumin or coriander seeds, to enhance digestion and clear toxins.

For topical treatment, applying a paste of sandalwood and turmeric can be quite effective. Mix them with a little rosewater, and apply gently to the scarred areas once a day. Turmeric is renowned for its anti-inflammatory and healing properties, while sandalwood aids in cooling and soothing your skin.

As for blackheads and whiteheads, steaming your face once a week can help open up pores and dislodge these impurities, followed by a gentle exfoliation using chickpea flour (besan) mixed with yogurt. This not only aids in removing excess oil but also nourishes the skin.

Supporting these treatments with some key lifestyle changes can make a substantial difference. Regular exercise will keep your blood circulation robust, which is vital for skin health. Ensuring you get enough sleep and manage stress effectively, since stress can trigger hormonal imbalances leading to breakouts.

In some cases, specialized Ayurvedic treatments, like Virechana (therapeutic purgation) might be recommended, but these must be conducted under the supervision by a qualified Ayurvedic practitioner. This procedure cleanses bile and detoxifies your entire system, helping to keep the skin clear from within.

Remember, consistency is key in Ayurveda. Following these steps diligently will help in reducing the appearance of scars and prevent future breakouts, although results can take time. But patience and persistent care, you’ll notice your skin improving and becoming more balanced.

Hi Lakshmi , I can get you because I to had the same problem used so much creams but my skin got irritated a lot then I thought of getting a consultation so I consulted our HOD and she prescribed me a cream , seriously I never believed until I saw the change … my all acne marks started to lose pigment and the colour changed into my skin colour. I would suggest u that cream for external use and the method of using that cream , 1.Acnovin ( product from Vasu) - First wash ur face with water then u have to steam with hot water then u have to do scrapping with triphala choornam then apply this cream only in the scene mark spots do this regularly for 1-2weeks then u will see visible changes .

avoid oil and sugar cut !
