how to use triphala churna for weight loss - #25613

Abigail

I am really trying to figure out how to use triphala churna for weight loss. Like, I’ve been struggling with my weight for a while now. I tried every diet under the sun and nothing sticks. A friend mentioned triphala churna, and honestly, I’m curious but confused about how to even start! I mean, I’ve read that it helps with digestion and detox, but how does that translate to weight loss? Do I just mix it with water, or should I add it to foods? And how much should I be taking daily? I’ve seen different suggestions online! Last week, I mixed it with honey and warm water, which was kinda okay but I’m not sure if that’s right. Also, I’ve noticed some bloating lately (like, is that normal?) since I started taking it. Should I be doing anything else like changing my diet or excercise routine along with the triphala churna? Any advice would really help me, thanks!

Triphala churna, an ancient Ayurvedic formula composed of three fruits—Amalaki, Bibhitaki, and Haritaki—is cherished for its ability to support digestion, detoxification, and balance in the body, which can contribute to weight management. By enhancing the digestive fire, or agni, Triphala can promote efficient metabolism and cleansing, addressing the root causes of weight gain. For weight loss, typically, taking 1-2 teaspoons of Triphala churna is recommended. You can mix it with warm water and consume it before bedtime or early in the morning on an empty stomach. Consuming it with honey, as you've tried, is also traditional and synergizes further with its cleansing properties. The bloating you experience could be due to your body adjusting to the changes in digestion and detoxification processes initiated by Triphala. It's typically normal; however, if it persists, reduce the dosage and observe how your body reacts. It's crucial to personalize the dose according to your constitution or prakriti. Incorporating lifestyle modifications alongside Triphala will enhance the weight loss journey. Regular physical activity, like brisk walking, yoga, or whatever exercise that you enjoy, is beneficial. Also, mindful eating, sticking to freshly prepared meals, drinking ample water, and including more vegetables and whole grains will aid detoxification. Avoid processed foods, cold beverages, and late-night meals, essential to balance digestion and aid weight reduction. If you observe persistent bloating or other digestive disturbances, it might be worthwhile to consult a local Ayurvedic practitioner to adjust the regimen to suit your constitution better. Remember, while Ayurvedic remedies like Triphala can be beneficial, personalized advice considering your unique body constitution and lifestyle is ideal. Let this be a part of a broader, holistic lifestyle change towards your health goals.
