Doctors’ responses

Dr. Neha Saini
I’m Vaidya Neha Saini, an Ayurvedic Physician with a strong foundation in classical Ayurveda and a passion for restoring health through natural and individualized care. I hold a BAMS degree from Shree Krishna Government Ayurvedic College, Kurukshetra, and completed my MD in Ayurveda from the esteemed Dr. D.Y. Patil Vidyapeeth, Pune. With over five years of clinical experience, I have dedicated my practice to helping patients manage chronic health conditions, lifestyle disorders, and long-standing imbalances through a holistic lens. My treatment approach integrates the timeless principles of Ayurveda with modern clinical sensibilities. I focus on addressing the root cause of illness rather than just alleviating symptoms. Over the years, I have supported patients suffering from joint and musculoskeletal pain, chronic skin conditions such as eczema and psoriasis, hormonal imbalances including PCOS and thyroid dysfunction, and neurological concerns like paralysis and post-stroke rehabilitation. Each case is treated with individualized Ayurvedic therapies that may include herbal medicine, Panchakarma detoxification, lifestyle restructuring, and personalized diet plans tailored to the patient's prakriti (body constitution) and vikriti (current imbalance). I provide both in-person and online consultations to make Ayurvedic care accessible and convenient for everyone. My goal in every interaction is to listen with empathy, guide with clarity, and offer treatments rooted in authenticity and clinical evidence. I firmly believe that true healing is a collaborative journey—where the patient and practitioner work in harmony to bring the body, mind, and spirit back into equilibrium. For me, Ayurveda is not just a profession—it is a way of life, a science of understanding human nature, and a philosophy of living in sync with the rhythms of nature. I am committed to walking this path with you, offering my knowledge, experience, and care at every step of your healing journey.

Your symptoms—generalized itching predominantly at night, sudden appearance of rashes, swelling of the lips, and temporary relief within 2–3 hours after taking anti-allergic medication—strongly suggest a case of Urticaria, known in Ayurveda as Sheetapitta. Sheetapitta is classified as a Rakta Pradoshaj Vyadhi (blood-borne disorder) and is primarily triggered by viruddha ahara-vihara—incompatible diet and lifestyle practices that disturb the balance of Doshas, especially Pitta and Vata. To manage the condition holistically, the following Ayurvedic regimen may be initiated under the guidance of a qualified Vaidya: Haridrakhand – 2 teaspoons twice daily with warm milk Navkarshika Kashaya – 2 teaspoons with water after meals Raktashodhak Vati – 2 tablets twice daily Katu Taila (e.g., Nimbadi or Patoladi Taila) – for external application over the body; wash off after 30 minutes Dietary Guidelines (Pathya): Encourage foods that are cooling, anti-inflammatory, and easy to digest: Amla, gulkand, coriander-infused water, kokum sherbet, fresh grapes Light meals such as moong dal, bottle gourd, ridge gourd, and rice khichdi Coconut water daily Optional: Neem or Giloy juice for additional detoxification Avoid (Apathya): Spicy, oily, fermented, or fried foods Incompatible food combinations (e.g., milk with salty foods, fruits with milk) Curd at night, seafood with milk Late-night sleep, overexertion, and emotional stress. If swelling extends to the throat or you experience difficulty breathing, seek emergency care immediately. To identify underlying triggers, tests like Total IgE, CBC with eosinophil count, and Liver Function Tests may be helpful. If symptoms become frequent or chronic, Shodhana therapies such as Virechana (therapeutic purgation) or Raktamokshana (bloodletting) may be considered for deeper detoxification. Please try to document the appearance of the rashes and lip swelling with photos whenever possible—this can help greatly in clinical assessment and treatment planning.
