I am having scars on my face from last few years - #31331
I am having problem with my skin from last few years. There are certain marks in my skin which never get fade no matter what treatment I undergo whether allopathy homeopathy or ayurvedic. The marks remain on the face the same. I also discovered last few months that my periods are not regular. There is a gap of more than 15 days as compared to my last period date. Also there is certain increase in the facial hair and body hair although the hairs are not thick and dense but I have felt that they have become noticeable on my face and chest and stomach. I have once went to a doctor and according to him the issues in my face is you to my hormonal imbalance. I am also trying to conceive from last few months. I am looking for an ayurvedic treatment at an affordable coste that will help me solving all of the problems that I have mention above

Doctors’ responses
You need personal consultation.
Considering the symptoms you’re experiencing, they may point to a hormonal imbalance, which sometimes can be linked with conditions like PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome). In Ayurveda, these imbalances are often associated with the imbalance of Vata and Pitta doshas, affecting the body’s tissues (dhatus) and metabolic functions (Agni).
First, focus on your diet: aim for a diet that’s rich in fresh vegetables, whole grains, and fruits. Avoid excess consumption of processed foods, sugar, and caffeine, as these can aggrevate your condition. Opt for cooling and balancing foods that pacify Pitta, like cucumbers, melons, and leafy greens. To balance Vata, incorporate healthy fats like ghee and olive oil. Consider having small meals throughout the day, rather than few large meals, to help maintain stable blood sugar levels.
Herbs like Shatavari and Ashwagandha can support hormonal balance and reproductive health. Shatavari is known to normalize menstrual cycle and enhance fertility, while Ashwagandha can help manage stress and balance hormone levels. You can take 500 mg of each twice daily with warm water. Consult with an Ayurvedic practitioner for personalized advice on dosages.
Lifestyle adjustments are crucial too. Regular exercise like yoga or brisk walking for about 30 minutes daily will aid in balancing hormones. Focus on stress management techniques such as meditation, as stress can exacerbate hormonal imbalances.
Topically, for facial marks, applying a paste of sandalwood and turmeric with rosewater can promote cleaner and clearer skin. Leave the paste on your skin for about 15-20 minutes before washing off with lukewarm water. Do this 3-4 times a week. Mind, patience is key with Ayurvedic treatments – results often come gradually.
Lastly, since you’re trying to conceive, it’s important to discuss your overall health and fertility plans with a healthcare provider or a qualified Ayurvedic physician regularly. If symptoms worsen or don’t improve, seek additional medical advise.
It sounds like you’re dealing with a complex interplay of skin issues, hormonal imbalance, and menstrual irregularities, which are not uncommon to see linked. From an Ayurvedic perspective, these symptoms suggest potential imbalances, particularly involving the doshas—primarily Pitta and Kapha. These imbalances can influence your both your reproductive and detoxification systems, as well as the skin. Here’s a guide on how you might address these issues:
First, let’s focus on diet and lifestyle, which play a crucial role. To balance Pitta and Kapha, favor foods that are cooling and anti-inflammatory. Incorporate bitter and astringent foods like green leafy vegetables, cucumbers, and turmeric. Reduce consumption of spicy, acidic, and fermented foods. Hydration is critical, so make sure to drink coconut water, aloe juice, or plain water regularly to flush out toxins.
Now considering your menstrual irregularities and skin issues—an indicator of detox pathways looking for support—practices like yoga and meditation can ease stress levels and enhance circulation. Specific Ayurveda herbs like Ashoka (Saraca asoca) may support menstrual regularity, while Manjishtha (Rubia cordifolia) and Neem (Azadirachta indica) promote detoxification and clear skin.
A daily morning self-massage (Abhyanga) with sesame oil can help improve skin health and balance the doshas. Be consistent and gentle with this practice for the best results.
For facial hair concerns, application of a paste made from chickpea flour, turmeric, and a little milk or water can help naturally discourage hair growth over time. Apply it to affected areas, let it dry, then scrub gently before rinsing.
With your conception goals, it’s advantageous to harmonize the reproductive system through herbs like Shatavari (Asparagus racemosus), which is well-regarded in Ayurveda for supporting female health.
Before proceeding with any intense herbal regimen or dietary modifications, though, please consult a skilled Ayurvedic practitioner to ensure suggestions are tailored to your current health and any other treatments you might be taking. With any persistent or worsening symptoms, particularly given the reproductive concerns and irregular periods, seeking integrated medical advice is always wise.
