Hii, Dr Arshad MD( Andrologist, Infertility specialist) , first of All AMH low is not a small thing it is females ovarian reserve, there are many factors behind the low level of AMH. It needs proper investigation analysis and detail history. Without diagnosis it is not possible to say anything about this
Low AMH levels indicate a reduced ovarian reserve, which can make natural conception more challenging. From an Ayurvedic perspective, rejuvenating the reproductive system is essential, particularly focusing on nourishing the Shukra dhatu (reproductive tissue) and enhancing overall vitality.
Begin with your diet – emphasize foods that are nourishing for the reproductive system. Include warm, cooked meals that are easy to digest. Use ghee in your cooking which supports fertility, and incorporate nuts like almonds and walnuts for their healthy fats and proteins. Sesame seeds and pumpkin seeds can help too, they’re known to balance hormones naturally.
Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera) is a powerful adaptogen and can be consumed as a herbal supplement, after consulting an Ayurvedic practitioner. It may help in improving energy levels, reducing stress, and supporting fertility. Shatavari (Asparagus racemosus) is another herb particularly beneficial for the female reproductive system due to its nourishing properties. Arjuna (Terminalia arjuna) can support cardiovascular health, which indirectly impacts reproductive health as well.
Consider practicing yoga and pranayama daily. This will enhance circulation, balance hormones, and help in reducing stress levels. Positions such as Baddha Konasana and Viparita Karani can specifically benefit reproductive health.
For your husband, Ayurvedic perspectives suggest improving the quality and motility of sperm with herbs like Gokshura (Tribulus terrestris) and Kapikacchu (Mucuna pruriens). Stress management is also crucial; practicing meditation and mindfulness for reducing stress levels can be helpful.
Although Ayurveda offers valuable supportive treatment, given the specifics of your condition, consulting a fertility specialist remain important while integrating these guidelines. This combined approach not only bolster your fertility but also support the overall well-being of you both.
Low AMH levels can indicate diminished ovarian reserve, which in turn could affect natural conception efforts. However, alongside conventional treatments, Siddha-Ayurvedic principles may offer complementary support by balancing your body’s internal environment. Since both you and your husband are experiencing fertility-related challenges, a more holistic approach may be beneficial.
First, focus on supporting your overall reproductive health through dietary and lifestyle adjustments tailored to balance vata and pitta doshas, often implicated in low AMH levels. Increase intake of warm, nourishing foods such as cooked grains, lentils, and easy-to-digest plant proteins. Including ghee and a variety of fresh, organic vegetables can strengthen the dhatus or tissue layers, particularly the shukra dhatu relevant to reproductive health. Minimizing caffeine and processed sugars will help maintain balanced agni, or digestive fire.
Key herbs like Shatavari and Ashwagandha can offer gentle enhancement of ovarian function and general vitality. Prepare a decoction using 1 teaspoon of Shatavari powder in warm milk and consume daily. This can be complemented with daytime yoga stretches focused on hip-opening and relaxation to maintain easeful energy flow through the nadis, or energy channels.
Meanwhile, addressing your husband’s condition with a similar framework is important. Including herbs like Ashwagandha and Mucuna Pruriens can help improve sperm count and motility. A routine of gentle exercise alongside these herbs might improve vitality and overall reproductive health.
However, integrating these recommendations would not substitute for conventional medical advice. If advised to pursue IVF or IUI, consider a combined approach: integrating Ayurveda with allopathic options could potentially enhance outcomes. Always consult your healthcare provider to coordinate approaches and ensure no interference with medical treatment.
