To address recurring sinus-related facial swelling, it’s important to consider a comprehensive approach. While Methi (fenugreek) is known for its various medicinal properties, there is no direct evidence that indicates it effectively reduces sinus swelling. Reducing sinus-related swelling requires addressing inflammation and mucus build-up. Consider starting with nasal irrigation using saline water - half a teaspoon of salt in one cup of warm water, performed twice a day, can help clear sinus passages. In Ayurveda, steam inhalation with eucalyptus oil or a pinch of turmeric can relieve sinus congestion and thus reduce swelling. Try this once a day, especially during early evenings.

For applying Methi for hair care, yes, it is often recommended in Ayurveda for improving hair health. You can prepare a paste by soaking methi seeds overnight, grinding them, and applying directly to the scalp. Leave it on for 30-40 minutes before rinsing with lukewarm water. This can be done once a week for benefits.

Regarding oily skin, establish a routine to manage oiliness and minimize acne. Start by cleansing your face twice daily with a gentle neem-based cleanser, as neem has antibacterial properties beneficial for acne-prone skin. After cleansing, apply a natural toner made from rose water to tighten the pores. Remember to moisturize with a light, non-comedogenic moisturizer, it balances the skin’s natural oils.

For open pores, you may benefit from applying a face mask twice a week made from Multani Mitti (Fuller’s Earth) mixed with rose water. It helps absorb excess oil and tighten pores. Diet plays a significant role – favor a diet rich in fresh fruits, vegetables, and reduce intake of fried, spicy, and oily foods, which can exacerbate acne and oiliness.

Ensure you’re also drinking adequate water, as hydration supports skin health. Practicing regular yoga asanas like Bhujangasana (Cobra Pose) and deep breathing exercises can also help stabilize the body’s systems and maintain skin balance. In severe or persistent cases, it’s advisable to seek guidance from a healthcare professional or Ayurvedic practitioner.
