how to remove blackness around lips - #39567
I am kind of freaking out about something that's been bothering me for a while now. I’ve noticed this blackness around my lips – like seriously, it's not cute at all!!! I mean, I’ve tried a bunch of things; I changed my lip balm thinking maybe it was causing it, but nope. It’s still there! I don’t even know how long it’s been, maybe a few months? Idk if it has to do with my diet or sun exposure or something but I was thinking about trying some ayurvedic remedies. I have read that herbs and oils can help lighten dark spots, but like, I could use some direction. Anyone know how to remove blackness around lips without harsh chemicals? Also, should I be worried about it being a health issue? I sometimes feel like it looks worse when I’m stressed or tired too, which is like basically every day 😩. I drink a good amount of water and try to eat fruits and veg, but let’s be real, I also indulge in sweets sometimes... Anyway, any advice on how to remove blackness around lips, what herbs or oils I should use, or maybe even recommendations on a good routine would be super helpful! I’m open to any suggestions! Thanks in advance!

Blackness around the lips can indeed be distressing, but let’s explore some Ayurvedic insights that might help address the issue. It’s often linked to factors like dosha imbalances, lifestyle or dietary habits, and environmental exposure.
First, assess your routine for anything that could be contributing. Frequent stress and tiredness may be aggravating Vata dosha, affecting skin health and pigmentation. Incorporating a daily routine with stability is crucial—consider activities like yoga or pranayama to manage stress.
From an Ayurvedic perspective, topical applications of natural oils and herbs can support skin health. Mix almond oil and a pinch of turmeric. Apply it gently around your lips, and let it sit for 15-20 minutes before rinsing with warm water. Turmeric is known for its healing properties, and almond oil provides nourishment. Do this once every night for a few weeks.
Another approach is to create a paste using sandalwood powder mixed with rose water. Sandalwood has cooling properties that might help reduce discoloration. Rose water will tone the skin. Apply the paste, leave it on for 15-20 minutes, and rinse. This could be done every alternate day.
Diet also plays a significant role. Sometimes excessive intake of sweets or processed foods can lead to imbalances or skin issues. Try to increase your intake of fruits like pomegranates—rich in antioxidants—and leafy greens. Cut back on sweets, if possible, since they might impact your skin health adversely.
Ensure protection from sun too; UV exposure can worsen pigmentation. Applying a natural sunscreen or wearing protective covering when outdoors will help.
Before starting any routine, consider a allergy patch test with the oils or herbs applied on a small area. If symptoms persist or worsen, consult with a local Ayurvedic professional for a personalized plan or medical counselor to rule out underlying health issues that may benefit from early intervention.
