does menosan cause weight gain - #41302

Sophia

I am really confused and need some help! I’ve been taking Menosan for about a month now to manage my menopause symptoms, and I keep hearing people say that does Menosan cause weight gain?? At first, it felt like it was working, but now I’m noticing this weird fluctuation in my weight that's driving me absolutely crazy. Like, I don’t know if it’s just me or if it’s the Menosan, because I’ve tried to be more active and eat healthy. I just started tracking my food and workouts, but still the scale goes up and down. It’s kinda frustrating, honestly. I used to love working out, but now I feel like I’m battling this extra weight. I even asked my doctor, and he said that weight gain isn’t a common side effect, but that really didn’t help me feel better! Has anyone else experienced this? Does Menosan cause weight gain in your experience? I really wanna know if I should stop taking it or try something else. I mean, the hot flashes and mood swings are tough, but I don’t wanna trade one problem for another. Any advice or insights on this would be super appreciated!

Menosan, an Ayurvedic formulation often used to manage menopause symptoms, typically isn’t known to cause weight gain. It’s comprised of herbs like Shatavari and Ashwagandha, which are often used to support hormonal balance and general well-being. Weight fluctuations during menopause can be influenced by a variety of factors, including hormonal changes, metabolism shifts, lifestyle habits and stress levels. These can collectively cause changes in weight, sometimes independent of any new supplement or treatment.

Consider examining if other factors like diet, stress levels, sleep quality or activity levels have changed recently. Hormonal shifts typical of menopause can lead to water retention or changes in fat distribution, and this might be perceived as weight gain. Tracking your food and workouts sounds like a positive step, but it’s also important to ensure that your meals are balanced and you’re getting enough nutrients to support hormonal health.

From an Ayurveda perspective, focusing on balancing your dosha can be helpful. For many women during menopause, imbalances in Vata and, in some cases, Pitta can cause such symptoms. To pacify Vata, maintain a routine with regular meal times, practice calming activities such as meditation or yin yoga, and eat warm, nourishing foods like soups or stews. Including spices like ginger or cumin can help in enhancing digestion.

If you’re experiencing frustration with your current routine, consider incorporating certain lifestyle modifications. Engage in regular activities like walking or swimming, which can support metabolism and balance hormones. Prioritize stress management techniques, such as deep breathing exercises or mindfulness practices. Ayurveda also emphasizes the importance of quality sleep; try to establish a regular sleep routine to support the circadian rhythms.

Ultimately it might be useful to keep monitoring how your body responds to Menosan over time. If weight fluctuations continue there’s no harm in reaching out for a second opinion or discussing alternative solutions with a health care practitioner.

Menosan, typically containing herbal ingredients like black cohosh and shatavari, is often used to help with menopause symptoms. While weight gain isn’t a commonly reported side effect of Menosan itself, hormonal changes during menopause can naturally lead some women to experience weight fluctuations. This isn’t the same as the product directly causing weight gain. In Siddha-Ayurvedic medicine, such imbalances are seen through the vata and pitta doshas which can be aggravated during menopause, potentially affecting your agni, or digestive fire, leading to weight fluctuations.

The adjustments in your diet and activity you’re making are valuable, yet understanding your dosha constitution can offer more personalized advice. Since every person has a unique prakriti, or body nature, what works for one individual may not work for another. For instance, if excess kapha energy is contributing to weight issues, you may want more light and warming foods, such as ginger or turmeric teas, to support metabolism. Regular, moderate exercise tuned to your dosha, like calming yoga for vata or brisk walking for kapha, can also assist balance.

Keeping stress under control, perhaps through pranayama (breath exercises) or meditation, is crucial as stress can further alter weight through cortisol release. Consider consulting an Ayurvedic practitioner to dive deeper into your unique situation. Working closely with your regular physician is important, but an integrative approach could provide you insights about lifestyle and diet fitting specifically to you. Immediate medical attention is advised if any new symptoms arise that are concerning or if there’s a drastic unintended weight change.
