Doctors' responses

From what you have mentioned, your skin is clearly reacting to the Hong Kong environment, more than anything else, and this is very common when the air is heavy humid and polluted. Because your skin is already on the dryer and more reactive side, the combination of sudden weather shifts and environmental irritants in Hong Kong can easily trigger hitching and eczema When you travel to the USA, the cleaner, air and more stable climate, calm, your skin, which is why your symptoms settle

To help your skin stay stable , even in Hong Kong , we need to keep your internal heat, controlled and strengthen the outer skin barrier every single day A simple routine done consistently can prevent the flareups For internal support, you can start on Gandhak rasayana Neem capsule Take both tablets twice daily after food with warm water Haridra khanda-take half teaspoon with warm water after food twice daily Mahamanjistadi aristha take 20 ML with equal amount of water twice daily after meals Avipattikara churna-half teaspoon with water before meals with water, if you have hyper acidity or digestion issues

For externally you can apply coconut oil or almond oil before bath

Simple lifestyle changes also make a big difference Keep shower slightly warm instead of very hot Avoid strong, chemical base soaps or fragrances Avoid spicy sour processed fermented food

Considering your experience with eczema primarily in Hong Kong and not in the USA, several factors might contribute to this situation through ayurvedic lenses. Environmental conditions, lifestyle differences, and diet variations—all can significantly affect your skin health.

Firstly, the climate in Hong Kong, known for its high humidity and urban pollution, could exacerbate skin issues. From an Ayurvedic perspective, this might aggravate the Pitta and Kapha doshas, which can cause imbalances leading to skin conditions like eczema. Notably, excessive Pitta is linked to inflammatory responses, while aggravated Kapha can lead to excess moisture and sluggish circulation in the skin.

To manage this, consider incorporating practices that reduce Pitta and Kapha imbalances. Starting with dietary adjustments, favor Pitta-pacifying foods: cooling items like cucumbers, and aloe vera juice, which can help soothe inflammation. Avoid excessively spicy, sour, or salty foods that can inflame Pitta further. Similarly, Kapha can be balanced by avoiding heavy, oily, and sweet foods.

In terms of lifestyle, staying cool and calm is essential for balancing Pitta. Engage in calming activities like meditation and yoga, preferably in an environment that is cool and airy. Also, try dry brushing to stimulate circulation, aiding in Kapha reduction.

Managing stress is crucial—practice mindfulness or breathing exercises to maintain a balanced state of mind, preventing dosha imbalances that might aggravate skin conditions.

Topically, applying coconut oil can be beneficial due to its soothing and cooling properties, helpful for Pitta-pacified skin. Regularly moisturize with gentle Ayurvedic skin oils like neem or sandalwood oil, which have anti-inflammatory and cooling properties.

Ensure you drink plenty of water to stay hydrated, supporting Kapha balance. Opt for room-temperature beverages rather than cold drinks that can disturb the digestive fire (agni).

Monitor your eczema closely, and if it persists or worsens, consult with an Ayurvedic practitioner or dermatologist to pinpoint any underlying issues specific to your constitution.
