how to remove tooth decay naturally - #42090

Violet

I am really worried about my teeth! For the past few months, I've been noticing some sensitivity and a little bit of pain on one of my molars. I did some research and it seems like I might have tooth decay. Yikes! 😩 I went to the dentist and he said it’s not too severe yet, but if I don't do something soon, it could get worse, and who wants that, right? I've been reading tons about how to remove tooth decay naturally because I really don’t want to go the traditional route with fillings and all that. I tried oil pulling with coconut oil, and I thought that was helping but then I read that it’s not a cure for actual decay... Ugh! Also, I started chewing on a clove or two, thinking they help too, but I just want to know how to remove tooth decay naturally in a more effective way. Anyone have any natural remedies that worked for them? I’ve also been trying to watch my diet – cutting down on sugar and all those sweets I love, but it feels like I’m fighting an uphill battle... Is there really a way to reverse this and how long would that take? Any tips would be helpful; I’m freaking out a little here!

Understanding tooth decay from an Ayurvedic perspective focuses on imbalances within the bodily systems, particularly concerns relating to ‘kapha’ and potential ‘vata’ instability. Tooth sensitivity hints at ‘vata’ aggravation, while decay suggests a dwarfed ‘kapha.’ First, minimizing sugar is a great start, as excess sugar enhances ‘ama’ (toxins) formation, which degenerates oral health. Now, let’s get into practical steps.

Start with Triphala powder, known for its cleansing and healing properties. Mix a teaspoon in warm water and gargle nightly. Its antioxidant profile aids detoxifying and rejuvenates oral tissue. Consistent use can enhance gum health and strengthen teeth, potentially reversing minor decay over time. Results may vary, but dedication for a few weeks can bear visible benefits.

For daily care, oil pulling can continue as it’s great for overall mouth detoxification even if doesn’t directly reverse decay. Use sesame oil, known for stronger ‘vat’ calming attributes compared to coconut oil. Swish it for about 15 minutes in the morning, on empty stomach, following with warm water rinse.

Cloves are actually beneficial as they antiseptic and can alleviate pain, just remember to use clove oil sparingly, diluted with carrier oil so it doesn’t irritate gums. Apply on the affected tooth gently.

Diet-wise, focus on including calcium-rich foods such as sesame seeds, almonds, and leafy greens. Keep hydrating to maintain saliva, a natural decay defense. Also, avoid sticky foods that cling to teeth.

While natural methods can support minor decay’s management, they cannot substitute urgent actions when necessary — always back with a dentist’s advice. Consistency, in combination with professional guidance, is key in this journey.

Your concern about tooth decay is understandable, and turning to natural remedies is quite an instinctive response. In the context of Siddha-Ayurvedic practices, the focus is on maintaining oral hygiene and strengthening oral tissues rather than directly reversing decay, as once it sets in, it’s quite challenging to undo by natural means alone. However, there are steps you can take to support your dental health.

Start with your diet, which is good that you’re already watching it. Minimize sugar intake and incorporate foods rich in calcium and phosphorous. These minerals strengthen your teeth and can support your body in maintaining stronger enamel. Include more leafy greens, almonds, and dairy products if your diet allows.

Oil pulling, traditionally used in Ayurveda, can indeed help in reducing bacterial growth and promoting oral health. Whether coconut, sesame, or sunflower oil, swish about a tablespoon for 15-20 minutes daily, preferably on an empty stomach, to aid in oral detoxification. It’s vital to spit the oil out afterward and rinse with warm water.

Chewing cloves can help with pain and has antimicrobial properties, but consistent use can cause irritation. Instead, yogurt can introduce beneficial probiotics that help balance harmful bacteria in your mouth.

Additionally, brushing with a paste made from neem leaves or neem oil might help, as neem is renowned for its antimicrobial properties. Ensure you’re maintaining regular brushing with a fluoride-free toothpaste post meal, as this can help remove food particles and reduce plaque.

If the sensitivity persists or worsens, it may indicate the need for more immediate treatment to prevent complications. Natural remedies can be part of your routine, but it’s crucial not to rely solely on them if dental intervention becomes necessary.
