Hair fall at your age can arise from various factors including past chemical treatments and natural aging processes, yet Ayurvedic principles offers pathways to manage and encourage hair health. First, let’s address the doshic balance, pivotal in Ayurveda. Vata dosha often aggravates with age, leading to dryness and brittleness affecting hair health, thus focusing on balancing Vata is essential. Start by applying warm oil, say coconut or sesame oil, at least twice a week. Massage your scalp gently, utilizing circular motions to improve blood circulation and strengthen hair roots.
Shifting to dietary considerations, incorporate nutrient-rich foods aligned with your dosha type. A diet enriched with antioxidants such as amla (Indian gooseberry), a well-known tonic for hair is crucial. Consuming Triphala too can harmonize doshas, aiding digestion, hence improving nutrient absorption—aim for a spoonful mixed in warm water before bedtime. Stay hydrated, it supports hair health by maintaining moisture balance throughout your system.
Herbal remedies, using bhringraj and brahmi, well-recognized for their nourishing and restorative properties, can be beneficial. You can prepare a paste or use them in oil form to enhance hair growth. Following, ensure a well-regulated sleep, practice stress-reducing activities like pranayama or meditation—stress influences Vata leading to hair fall. Lastly, avoid overly washing or handling hair roughly, as well as steer clear of chemical-laden products which, although you’ve minimized, can indeed exacerbate the problem.
If changes don’t result in improvement within a few months, consider consulting with an Ayurvedic practitioner to tailor interventions more closely fitting your prakriti. It’s about long-term care, finding a balanced, sustainable regimine for wellness over quick fixes.
