Yes, you can combine Pilgrim’s hair growth serum with homemade rosemary oil. However, it’s crucial to consider the potential effect of both the products on your scalp and hair health. While the serum may be beneficial for stimulating hair growth, if it’s not helping with your hairfall, there may be a need to address other underlying factors such as stress or nutritional deficiencies which can be contributing to your hair loss.
For making rosemary oil, a suitable choice of carrier oil is critical, especially if coconut oil tends to increase your dandruff. Jojoba oil is a good option; it’s chemically similar to the scalp’s natural oils, making it excellent for moisturizing without clogging pores. It also has anti-fungal properties which can be beneficial for dandruff. Almond oil is another alternative, it is light, absorbs easily, and is nourishing for the scalp.
To create rosemary-infused oil, start with one cup of carrier oil and about 2 tablespoons of dried rosemary leaves. Gently warm the carrier oil in a pan on low heat, then add the rosemary leaves. Let it simmer for about 30 minutes to 1 hour. Be cautious not to let it boil. Then, strain the leaves out through a fine sieve once the mixture has cooled. You can apply this oil to your scalp once or twice a week, massaging gently and leaving it on for 1-2 hours before washing it out with a mild, herbal shampoo.
Ensure to maintain regular hairwashing routine to prevent any oil build-up, which might otherwise exacerbate dandruff, and consider dietary changes focused on promoting hair health — including foods rich in omega-3 fatty acids, protein, and vitamins B and E. If these approaches don’t improve the situation, consulting with a healthcare professional might be necessary to explore additional treatments or pinpoint hormone imbalances.
