Rather than self-medicating with random remedies like Madhunashini vati or karela–neem juice, the right way forward is: What you should do Consult a nearby qualified Ayurveda physician in person Get assessed for: Prakriti & Vikriti (dosha involvement) Agni, digestion, sleep, stress patterns Family history and lifestyle factors Diabetes and prediabetes in Ayurveda (Prameha) are systemic metabolic disorders, not just sugar problems. Treating only glucose numbers without correcting dosha imbalance, metabolism, gut health, and lifestyle gives temporary results. Your current HbA1c stage is early and reversible, so this is the best time to take a constitutional, doctor-guided approach rather than quick fixes.

Ok Doctor! I will consult Ayurvedic Doctor in person. Thanks

6.4 can be considered in prediabetic. -Yoga + daily walking = excellent. Continue. -Madhunashini Vati It often contains Gymnema (Gurmar) which does lower sugar BUT it can cause hypoglycemia, especially if combined with: karela/neem strict diet intense exercise 👉 Do NOT self-start Madhunashini vati just because it’s “Ayurvedic.” Ayurvedic medicines are still medicines, not supplements. - strictly follow lifestyle and diet -Rx 1)Nisha Amalaki Churna ½ tsp morning, empty stomach with lukewarm water 2)Gudmar Churna ¼ tsp after lunch with water (Avoid if weakness/dizziness occurs) 3)Triphala Churna ½ tsp at bedtime with warm water ⛔ Madhunashini Vati: Not advised at this stage -Pathya (Diet) Avoid sugar, jaggery, rice, maida Eat vegetables, millets, dal, curd Dinner before 8 pm -Vihara Yoga + brisk walk 30–45 min daily Sleep 7–8 hours Duration 6–8 weeks, then reassess sugars -Follow-up Repeat HbA1c after 3 months

HELLO, WHY HbA1C IS HIGH Think of the body like a factory -Food-> digestion->energyy->storage-> use -In your case -digestion is slow -fat metabolism is weak -liver releases extra sugar at night So even you eats well and walks the body -makes sugar internally at night -cannot burn stored fat and sugar properly -stores more instead of using it AYURVEDIC VIEW -Madhumeha (type of prameha) -Kapha-dominant with meda (fat tissue) involvement -Agnimandya - weak digestive and metabolic fire -Yakrit (liver) dushti- excess glucose relase -Avarana by kapha- blockage of insulin action -Associated ras and meda dhatu dushti TREATMENT GOALS -reduce fasting sugar naturally -improve liver glucose control -correct fat metabolism -strengthen digestive and tisue metabolism -prevent complications (nerve, kidney, heart) INTERNAL MEDICATIONS A) FOR BLOOD SUGAR CONTROL -NISHAMALAKI CHURNA= 5 gm at bedtime with warm water minimum 3-6 months =turmeric improves insulin sensitivity, amalaki strengthens liver and pancreas, especially helpful for fasting sugar -GUDMAR CAPSULES= 1 cap twice daily before meals for 3-6 months =reduces sugar absorption, improves pancreatic function, reduces sugar cravings -VIJAYSAR CHURNA= 3 gm twice daily with warm water after meals =classical anti-diabetic drug , improves insulin action, controls fasting and post meal sugar -MADHUNASHINI VATI= 1 tab twice daily after meals -TRIPHALA GUGGULU= 2 tabs twice daily after meals for 4 months =reduces fat accumulation , clears blocked channels, supports weight and lipid reduction YOGA ASANAS -vajrasana -mandukasana -ardha matsyendrasana -paschimottanasana -setu bandhasana PRANAYAM -Kapalbhati= 20-30 strokes * 3 months -Bhastrika= improves metabolism -Anulom vilom= hormonal balance -Bhramari= stress control Practice daily, empty stomach DIET -old rice -barley -moong dal -bitter vegetables -lauki, pumpkin, ridge gourd -cow ghee small amount AVOID -fruits at night -milk and curd at night -banana, mango, chikoo -refined flour and sugar -fried foods MILLETS -Good but not daily and not at night. They are heavy and worsen fasting sugar if misused HOME REMEDIES -Methi water= continue -Cinnamon 1/2 tsp + warm water morning -Soaked almonds 4-5 daily -bitter gourd juice twice a week LIFESTYLE ADVICE -Dinner before 7 pm -sleep by 10 pm -no day sleep - daily walking is good- continue -stress reduction is essential - stress increases sugar VERY IMPORTANT -Fasting sugar does not correct overnight -Ayurveda works slowly but deeply -consistency is more important than quantity of medicines DO FOLLOW HOPE THIS MIGHT BE HELPFUL THANK YOU DR. MAITRI ACHARYA

Hello I totally get why you’re worried. Docs throw around prediabetes when HbA1c hits 6.3, and it’s scary thinking about being on meds forever. But seriously, this is actually the perfect time to turn things around naturally, and it sounds like you’re already headed in the right direction! YOUR CONCERN – HbA1c = 6.3 (that’s prediabetes) –No meds yet, which is great! –Afraid of future diabetes meds –You’ve started yoga – awesome! –Drinking Karela-Neem juice (pre-made stuff) –Just want a quick Ayurvedic boost WHAT AYURVEDA SAYS This stage is called Prameha-purva avastha– basically, the illness is starting, but you can still undo it. Why it’s happening: – Weak Agni (that’s your metabolism) –Too much Kapha + Meda (fat/sugar storage) – Insulin resistance starting up –Liver’s not handling glucose right –But hey, your pancreas is still in good shape! 👍 NEED AYURVEDIC HELP? 👉 Yes – but only for like 2–3 months. Right now, meds plus yoga plus the right food can totally get your HbA1c back to normal. ABOUT THAT KARELA-NEEM JUICE It’s not bad, but: – It’s kinda cold and drying – Drinking it forever can mess with: – Your digestion –Give you acidity –Drop your BP –Throw off your electrolytes So, ditch it after a few weeks. IS MADHUNASHINI VATI A GOOD IDEA? 👉 YES – perfect for where you’re at! – It makes you more sensitive to insulin – It cuts down on sugar absorption – It gives your pancreas some love – It won’t make your sugar crash BEST 2-MONTH PLAN 1.Madhunashini Vati 2 tablets before breakfast and dinner
2.Guduchi 500 mg twice a day
3.Triphala churna ½ tsp at night
4. Stop the juice after 3 weeks
DIET PLANAVOID – Rice at night – Sugar – White flour stuff – Potatoes – Fried foods – Bakery treats ✅ INCLUDE – Roti – Moong dal – Veggies – Salad – Buttermilk – Nuts YOGA (Super Important!) Daily: – Surya namaskar – Kapalbhati – 30-minute walk CHECK-UP TIME Get these checked after 8 weeks: * Fasting sugar * HbA1c

Seriously, you caught this at the best possible time. Lots of people using this plan have gone from 6.3 → 5.6–5.7 in a couple of months – without being stuck on meds for life! You’re not late. You’re early! Warm Regards Dr. Snehal Vidhate

About Ayurvedic Support - Karela + Neem juice: Traditionally used for blood sugar regulation. It can be supportive, but consistency and quality matter. - Madhunashini Vati (Gymnema-based): Known in Ayurveda for balancing blood sugar. However: It is not typically recommended as a “short-term” medicine; its effects are gradual. It can lower blood sugar, so monitoring is important. Taking it for just a month may not show lasting benefit unless paired with lifestyle changes. Diet: Reduce refined carbs, sugar, and processed foods. Favor whole grains, legumes, vegetables, and bitter foods (like karela). Yoga & Exercise: Daily practice of Surya Namaskar, brisk walking, or pranayama (esp. Kapalabhati, Anulom Vilom) helps regulate metabolism. Ayurvedic options: - Bitter herbs: karela, neem, methi seeds (soaked overnight). - Madhunashini Vati: sometimes used under supervision, but not as a “quick fix.” Triphala at night can help digestion and metabolism. HbA1c 6.3 is pre-diabetes ,not full diabetes yet. With strict lifestyle + short-term support - 80–90% people reverse it back to normal (<5.7) without any medicine ever. You are in the window where diet + exercise + short Ayurvedic support can bring HbA1c down to 5.5–5.7 in 3–6 months. Madhunashini Vati (Patanjali) Yes – safe & effective for pre-diabetes. Dose: 1–2 tablets twice daily after meals with water (start with 1 BD for first 7 days). Duration: 2–3 months continuously ,then stop & recheck HbA1c. No dependency - it works by improving insulin sensitivity & reducing sugar absorption. ✓Stronger short-term combo (if you want faster drop) Madhunashini Vati – 1 tablet twice daily after food Arogyavardhini Vati – 1 tablet morning after breakfast (liver detox + metabolism boost) Triphala Churna – 3 gm night with warm water (cleans gut, helps sugar control) ✓Most important – Lifestyle (80% result depends on this) Diet: No sugar, jaggery, sweets, maida, white rice, potato, fruits like mango/banana/grapes Eat: moong dal, barley (jau), millets (bajra/jowar/ragi), green leafy veg, bitter gourd (karela), fenugreek (methi), jamun, amla, neem juice continue Small meals every 3–4 hours, dinner before 7 PM Exercise: 45 min brisk walk daily + 10 min yoga (Surya Namaskar, Kapalbhati) Sleep: 10 PM – 6 AM strictly Stress: 10 min Anulom-Vilom daily Dr Gursimran Jeet Singh MD Panchakarma
