Hello It is generally normal for a 10-year-old girl to start her periods, as puberty can begin anywhere between 9–13 years. Early periods at this age are not usually a cause for alarm if she is healthy and growing normally. Menstruation cannot be “safely stopped” for a year, and trying to delay it long-term is not recommended. The body needs normal hormonal cycles for growth and development. For now, ensure she has a balanced diet, adequate sleep, and proper hygiene during her periods. Track her cycle, and if you notice very heavy bleeding, severe pain, or other unusual symptoms, consult a pediatrician or pediatric endocrinologist. Warm Regards Dr Raghuveer SN
