Hello, You’re already in a good phase of recovery- mild stiffness with occasionl pain and no swelling suggests healing in progression, but there’s still vata aggravation (dryness + stiffness) with mild residual inflammation around the joint Oils External application Your choices are appropriate- just use them correctly -Mahanarayan taila= best for stiffness, joint recovery, ligament healing Primary oil daily before physiology -Bala taila= best fore strengthening muscles, nerve nourishment use alternate or mix 70:30 with mahanarayan Method important -gentle massage 5-7 min, no deep pressure -follow with moist heat 10 min -then do physiotherapy Oils don’t penetrate deep tissues In a structural sense- they mainly -improve circulation -reduce stiffness -prepare tissue for rehab Internal support key for healing To improve ligament healing + reduce stiffness -Dhanwantaram gulika= 1 tab twice daily after meals =supports post surgical recovery + vata balance -Yogaraj guggulu= 1 tab twice daily after meals =best for joint stiffness + mobility Local therapies if stiffness persists Do 2-3 times/week -Warm oil pooling at wrist =excellet for TFCC- type stiffness Diet very important for vata Focus on -warm, cooked meals -ghee 1-2 tsp daily -milk with turmeric at night -avoid= dry foods, cold exposure, excessive caffeine Rehab insight (critical) Your limitations is extension + pronation is typical post TFCC repair -Don’t force end-range stretching Prioritize -slow control mobility -isometric strengthening before resistance -progress gradually-> aggressive rehab can delay healing Sleep and recovery since sleep is disturbed -warm milk + a pinch of nutmeg at night -light oil massage on wrist + feet before bed Your oils are correct choices- no need to keep switching Healing now depends more on -consistent rehab -internal support -patience with tissue remodelling can take 4-6 months Do follow Hope this might be helpful Thank you
Hi Good to hear you are recovering And mahanarayana and bala oil gives results also But you can mix lakshadi oil …all these in a single bottle in small amount and apply And if possible you can take lakshadi guggulu orally Lakshadi guggulu 2 BD with water You will get results
Thank you sincerely for your response and valuable advise. I’d just like to add something which I missed in my post- during the repair, the surgeon discovered some cartilage thinning along the “lunate fossa” in the wrist joint. This was something that they thought to be a bit strange. May I please ask for your considered thoughts and advise regarding this condition as well?
The medicines which I had prescribed will help you recover with this issue also
It’s really good to see your dedication toward recovery—TFCC repair rehab can feel slow, especially when stiffness lingers into the strengthening phase. What you’re experiencing (extension + pronation restriction) is quite common at this stage, so you’re not off track. After surgery + immobilization → Vata aggravation in sandhi (joint) Signs you mentioned: Stiffness → Ruksha + Stambha (dryness + restriction) Limited extension/pronation → Vata blocking movement Occasional pain → mild residual inflammation So treatment focus = Snehana (oil) + Swedana (heat) + Controlled strengthening Follow this exact sequence for better results: Apply oil Use mahanarayana thailam Gentle circular + longitudinal strokes (5–7 mins) Focus on: Ulnar side of wrist (TFCC area) Forearm (pronator muscles) Moist heat (10–15 mins) After oil → improves penetration Avoid overheating Physiotherapy Extension stretches (pain-free range) Pronation with resistance bands Grip strengthening Post-physio (optional) Light application of bala thailam if soreness If you want to enhance healing internally: 1)yograj guggulu → for joint healing & stiffness 2)ashwagandha → for muscle strength + recovery Important corrections for faster recovery ❌ Don’t use oil randomly anytime → timing matters (before heat & physio) ❌ Avoid aggressive stretching → TFCC is sensitive to rotational stress ✔️ Include forearm strengthening, not just wrist ✔️ Gradual loading (especially for pronation) TFCC recovery timeline: 3–6 months → mobility returns 6–9 months → strength normalization Since your surgery was in Nov 2025 → You are still within normal recovery window
