After weight-loss surgery, plateaus and loose skin are very common. Building muscle with strength training, eating enough protein, staying hydrated, and giving the body time can help improve how loose skin looks. Creams and supplements don’t truly tighten skin. To restart weight loss, focus on protein, strength training, regular movement, good sleep, and reviewing nutrition with the bariatric team. -Triphala churna – 5 g HS with warm water -Abhyanga with Til taila daily, followed by warm water bath Pathya: High-protein diet, warm freshly cooked food, adequate hydration Apathya: Junk food, excess dry/cold food, irregular meals Advice: Regular light strength exercise, yoga, adequate sleep

Increase protein = 80–120 g/day (lean chicken, fish, eggs, paneer, whey isolate, Greek yogurt) Cut carbs further = keep <50–80 g net carbs/day (no rice, roti, sweets, fruits except berries/small apple) Add strength training = 3–4×/week (bodyweight squats, push-ups, resistance bands, dumbbells) – builds muscle → boosts metabolism HIIT or fasted walking = 20–30 min 3×/week (after doctor clearance) Track calories/macros = use app (MyFitnessPal) for 2 weeks to find hidden stalls Sleep 7–9 h + manage stress (cortisol blocks fat loss) ✓Tightening Loose/Saggy Skin Skin retraction takes 12–24+ months post-weight loss. Surgery is the only way to remove excess skin permanently, but non-surgical options help improve tone & elasticity: ✓Daily / Weekly Routine Dry brushing = 5 min before shower (stimulates lymph & collagen) Cold showers = end shower with 30–60 sec cold water on torso/arms/thighs Strength training = builds underlying muscle → fills out loose skin (focus on compound lifts: squats, deadlifts, push-ups, rows) Collagen peptides = 10–20 g/day in coffee/tea/water (improves skin elasticity – studies show modest benefit) Topical = firming creams with retinol, caffeine, peptides (limited effect, but safe add-on) Moisturize daily = shea butter or coconut oil after shower ✓Ayurvedic Support (safe post-bariatric) Triphala Churna = 3 gm night with warm water (gentle detox & metabolism support) Medohar Guggulu = 1 tablet twice daily after food (helps break fat plateaus) Shatavari Kalpa = 5 gm night with warm milk (nourishes skin & tissues) ✓Timeline & Expectations Weight restart: 4–12 weeks with above changes Skin tightening: noticeable improvement 6–18 months with muscle gain + collagen Excess skin removal (if needed): wait until weight stable 12–18 months post-op, then consult plastic surgeon (body contouring) Dr Gursimran Jeet Singh MD Panchakarma

Hello I get why you’re worried about your weight loss hitting a wall and your skin sagging after surgery. It’s pretty normal, but it can be a downer, both body and mind-wise. Ayurveda has some gentle, natural ways to get your body going again, rebuild your skin, and firm things up without messing with your stomach or liver. YOUR CONCERN – You had weight loss surgery. – Your weight loss has stopped. – You’ve got saggy skin on your belly, arms, and legs. – You’re probably feeling weak, dry, and not so toned. What Ayurveda Says: After surgery like yours: – Your metabolism can get wonky. – Your muscles, and skin can get weak. – This can lead to saggy skin, dryness, feeling tired, and stalled weight loss. What We’re Aiming For: – Tighten that loose skin. – Bring back collagen and muscle. – Get your body burning fat again. – Keep you strong with good nutrients. – Help you digest food better. Ayurvedic Plan of Action: INTERNAL MEDICATION 1. Ashwagandha Powder: Half a teaspoon with warm milk at night. Helps build muscle and skin. 2. Shatavari Powder: Half a teaspoon with warm milk in the morning. Helps with skin and hormones. 3. Amalaki Rasayan: One teaspoon twice a day after you eat. Vitamin C for anti-aging and skin repair. 4. Guggulutiktakam Kashayam: 15 ml with warm water twice a day. Burns fat and tones. 5. Punarnava Mandur: One tablet twice a day after meals. Good for skin and tissues. EXTERNAL CARE(Important!) Udvartana (Dry Powder Massage): Do this 4–5 days a week. What to use: Triphala powder, Kolakulathadi churna, Mustard powder. Massage in upward strokes on saggy areas for 20 minutes before you shower. Melts fat, tightens skin, and gets the blood flowing. After that: Rub Ksheerabala Taila on your skin. YOGA AND EXERCISE – Walk fast. – Do some resistance stuff (bands or light weights). – Work on your core. – This helps fill out the loose skin with muscle. DIET PLAN INCLUDE: – Moong dal – Paneer / tofu – Eggs (if you eat them) – Ghee – Coconut – Almonds – Bone broth (if allowed) AVOID – Sugar – Packaged stuff – Cold drinks – Refined carbs – Eating late at night Drink: Warm water with lemon every day. Saggy skin after weight loss surgery isn’t forever! Your body just needs a little help rebuilding and getting back in balance. Stick to this plan, and you shouldn’t need more surgery. You can get your body back to feeling firm and young again. Warm Regards Dr. Snehal Vidhate

HELLO, Post Bariatric surgery plateau and loose skin are very common concerns. From an Ayurvedic perspective, this situation involves -Agnimandya (reduced metabolic fire after rapid weight loss) -Dhatu kshaya (tissue, depletion, especially mamsa and meda dhatu) -vata aggravation (responsible for looseness, dryness, sagging) Ayurveda focuseson -rekindling metabolism -nourishing and tightening tissues -balancing vata UNDERSTANDING THE PLATEAU After surgery -digestive capacity becomes weak -body shifts to conservative mode -vata increases due to rapid fat loss -skin loses support So management must be gentle, nourishing and metabolism supporting not aaggressive detox INTERNAL MEDICATION 1) FOR METABOLISM AND PLATEAU -TRIKATU CHURNA= 1/4 tsp with warm water before meals =enhances digestion, redcues metabolic sluggishness -MEDOHARA GUGGULU = 2 tabs twice daily after meals = remove stubborn fat -PUNARNAVA MANDUR= 2 tabs twice daily after meals =reduces fluid retention, supports liver function 2) FOR SKIN TIGHTENING AND TISSUE NOURISHMENT Loose skin= vata + collagen loss -ASHWAGANDHA CHURNA= 1/2 tsp with warm milk at night =builds muscle, Reduces Vata, improves tissue firmness -SHATAVARI CAPSULES= 1 cap twice daily =improves tissue hydration -AMALAKI RASAYANA= 1 tsp In morning = improves collagen formation, anti-ageing, enhances skin elasticity COLLAGEN SUPPORTIVE DIET -mung dal soup -bone broth (if non veg) -black sesame -soaked almonds -A2 ghee (small amounts) EXTERNAL THERAPIES 1) DAILY OIL MASSAGE -BEST OIL= Dhanwantaram taila -warm oil -firm upward strokes -15-20 min daily -follow with warm shower =improves skin elasticity, circulation, collagen stimulation, lymphatic drainage This is one of the most important HERBAL SKIN PACK Mix -Triphala powder -Aloe vera gel -Manjistha -Sandalwood Apply on loose areas-> 20 min -> wash improves firmness and tone DIET FOR PLATEAU AND SKIN TIGHTENING Morning -warm water + lemon + pinch dry ginger MAIN PRINCIPLES -high proteins (as per surgical) -warm, light but nourishing foods -avoid raw salads (increase vata) -avoid cold foods and iced drinks -small frequent meals INCLUDE -mung dal khichdi -steamed vegetables with ghee -millets small quantity -pomegranate -amla -black sesame AVOID -excess fasting -crash dieting -very low calorie plans -excess dry foods YOGA AND EXERCISE After surgery plateau: Muscle building is crucial for tightening skin -surya namaskar -plank improves tone -utkatasana -bhujangasana -light resistance training Exercise helps -increase mamsa dhatu -improves skin tightness -break plateau IMPORTANT REALITY CHECK Ayurveda can -improve elasticity -improve tone -reduce mild moderate saging -enhance metabolism BUT -severe excess loose skin (after massive weight loss may require surgical tightening (body contouring) DO FOLLOW HOPE THIS MIGHT BE HELPFUL THANK YOU DR. After surgery a plateau is common and loses saggy skin usually happens due to rapid fat loss and reduces skin elasticity For continued weight loss focus on high protein diet adequate hydration and strength training at least 3 to 4 times weekly because muscle building restarts metabolism For skin tightness Strength training is most effective Ensure enough protein collagen rich foods vit c zinc and adequate sleep Oil massage improves circulation but will not dramatically tighten excess skin If skin is significantly loose only surgical tightening gives major visible correction Non surgical methods improve tone but can not remove large excess skin Review with protein iron B12 and vit D because post surgery deficiencies in the above can slow progression
