Question about Blood Clots in Veins - #9800

Naresh

Kaishore-guggulu does seem to be a very interesting product and I would like to try it out. My question is does it dissolve clots in veins? Or does it only prevent clot formation? Will be grateful if you could respond.

Doctors' responses

Kaishore Guggulu is a traditional Ayurvedic formulation known for its detoxifying and anti-inflammatory properties. While it is commonly used to support joint health, improve digestion, and balance the doshas, it is not specifically known for dissolving blood clots in veins. Instead, it works by promoting circulation, reducing ama (toxins), and preventing the formation of blockages or clots due to its blood-purifying and anti-inflammatory effects. For concerns about clots, it’s best to consult with a healthcare provider for a more tailored treatment approach.

Kaishore Guggulu is primarily used to detoxify the blood, reduce inflammation, and balance Pitta and Vata doshas. It does not directly dissolve blood clots, but it can improve circulation, prevent further clot formation, and reduce venous inflammation in conditions like varicose veins.

For blood clots, Ayurvedic remedies like:

Arjuna (Terminalia arjuna): Strengthens blood vessels and improves circulation. Dosage: 1 tsp powder with warm water twice daily. Punarnava (Boerhavia diffusa): Reduces fluid retention and supports vascular health. Caution: If you suspect active blood clots, seek immediate medical attention. Kaishore Guggulu should complement conventional treatment under professional guidance.

Namaste Naresh ji,

Kaishore Guggulu is indeed a highly effective Ayurvedic formulation, particularly for addressing issues related to blood impurities, inflammation, and certain circulatory conditions. However, when it comes to blood clots in veins, let me provide some clarity.

Effects of Kaishore Guggulu on Blood Clots: Prevention: Kaishore Guggulu primarily works by purifying the blood (Raktashodhana) and improving circulation (Raktavaha Srotas). This action helps in preventing the formation of clots by reducing inflammation, enhancing blood flow, and addressing toxicity. Dissolution: While it is not directly a “clot-dissolver,” its anti-inflammatory and blood-purifying properties may assist in reducing the risk of clot enlargement or progression over time. It is more preventive than curative in cases of severe clotting. For Varicose Veins and Circulation: Kaishore Guggulu can be especially beneficial in managing varicose veins, as it helps:

Reduce inflammation (Shotha-hara). Improve vein strength (Sira Balya). Relieve pain and heaviness in the legs. Suggestions for Blood Clot Management in Ayurveda: Herbal Remedies: Arjuna Powder/Tea: Supports heart and circulatory health. Punarnava: Helps reduce water retention and improve blood flow. Guduchi (Giloy): Balances inflammation. Lifestyle Modifications: Elevate legs while resting to improve venous return. Gentle yoga asanas like Viparita Karani (Legs-up-the-wall pose). Avoid prolonged standing or sitting. Dietary Recommendations: Include blood-thinning foods like garlic, turmeric, and ginger. Avoid excessive salt and processed foods, which can worsen venous pressure. Caution: Since you have chronic varicose veins, you must consult both an Ayurvedic physician and a vascular specialist. If you suspect active clots, it is crucial to rule out conditions like deep vein thrombosis (DVT) with modern diagnostic methods to prevent complications.

Summary: Kaishore Guggulu helps prevent clot formation and supports overall blood flow and vein health. However, for active clots, additional measures and a holistic approach are necessary. Please ensure regular follow-ups with a qualified Vaidya and modern specialist to manage your condition comprehensively.

Kaishore Guggulu, right? It’s a pretty interesting formulation. It’s often used in Ayurveda to support overall health and balance, particularly when dealing with conditions associated with inflammation and toxins in the body. But… let’s get into your question!

When it comes to blood clots in veins, or “DVT” as it’s sometimes called in the medical field, Kaishore Guggulu is not specifically known to dissolve existing clots. More like, its main function is to help the body keep its systems clear and running smoothtly, rather than directly acting on clots themselves. It can help by supporting the balance of the doshas, particularly if there’s an imbalance of Pitta involved, which sometimes correlates with inflammations.

Although it’s more preventative - aiding in reducing the likelihood of such clots forming in the future by keeping the blood clear and moving effectively. It addresses possible root causes such as improving digestion, enhancing circulation and supporting the liver’s function to clear toxins from the body.

But hey, while it’s beneficial for long-term health strategy, but if you suspect or know you have clots now, please do seek urgent medical attention immediately. Skip the ayurvedic herbs for the moment, y’know, and speak to a medical professional. Blood clots could be serious if not treated in time, and they may need more immediate intervention like blood thinners.

If you’re still interested in Kaishore Guggulu down the line for overall wellness, definitely have a chat with an Ayurveda practitioner who can guide you based on your specific dosha and health needs. Better to be safe! Stay well and take care of yourself. 😊
