Morning anxiety, that heavy, racing, or “hollow” feeling the moment you wake up is a distinct physiological experience. In Ayurveda, this is often the result of Vata (movement/fear) and Tamas (heaviness/clutter) colliding. Your mind is racing with “what ifs” while your body feels paralyzed by the “how.” Since you are managing a medical practice and personal responsibilities, the “overwhelm” is likely coming from a sense of fragmented energy. Here is a strategy to ground the morning surge and reclaim your motivation. 1. The “Physical Anchor” (Morning Routine) When anxiety hits in the morning, the goal is to get out of your head and into your body as quickly as possible. Warm Water Immediately: Drink a glass of warm water (not cold). This stimulates Apana Vata (downward movement), helping with constipation and “seating” your energy. The 5-Minute Oil Rub: You don’t need a full bath. Rub warm sesame oil or Kshirabala Thailam on your ears, the crown of your head, and the soles of your feet. This “seals” the nervous system against the morning’s chaotic energy. Avoid the Phone: Checking emails or news first thing injects “Rajas” (hyper-activity) into a fragile morning mind. Keep your phone in another room until after breakfast. 2. Ayurvedic Support for Motivation (Prana) To address the low energy (Kapha/Tamas) and the fear (Vata), you need herbs that are “Medhya” (brain-balancing) but also “Agni” (fire) promoting. Ashwagandharishtam: Unlike plain Brahmi which just cools, this fermented tonic provides strength (Bala) and helps the body adapt to stress. Dose: 20 ml with 20 ml lukewarm water after breakfast. Saraswatha Ghritam: Taking a small amount of medicated ghee helps “lubricate” the mental channels, making responsibilities feel less like “friction.” Dose: 1/2 teaspoon with warm water on an empty stomach. 3. Managing the Clutter & Overwhelm When the environment is cluttered, the mind cannot find a place to rest. However, trying to clean everything at once will trigger more anxiety. The “Micro-Zone” Rule: Pick one flat surface (like your bedside table or one corner of your desk). Clean only that. In Ayurveda, creating a “Sattvic” (pure/clear) space, even if it’s just 2 square feet, gives the mind a sanctuary. The 3-Task Limit: On a piece of paper, write down only three things that must happen today. Hide the rest of the list. Overwhelm comes from looking at the mountain; motivation comes from looking at the next step. 4. Addressing the Thyroid Connection Since you mentioned thyroid issues and feeling cold previously, your “low motivation” may be a literal lack of metabolic heat. Sunlight: Aim for 10 minutes of direct morning sunlight. This helps regulate your circadian rhythm and supports thyroid function. Warming Spices: Add ginger and cinnamon to your morning tea or breakfast. This “kindles” the internal fire (Prana Agni) needed to take action. A Simple “Grounding” Exercise When the “urge to go to someone else’s house” or the fear of being alone hits: Sit on the floor (not a chair). Press your palms firmly into the ground. Say to yourself: “I am here. My feet are on the floor. I am safe in this moment.” This physical connection to the earth helps counteract the “upward” flying energy of anxiety.

Condition and symptoms you describe is due to the vata pitta imbalance which affect your channels of the mind and cause restlessness in your body 1) Kalyanaka Kwath- 15 ml with 60 ml lukewarm water twice daily before food 2) Brahmi Ghritham- one teaspoon early morning on empty stomach with warm water 3) Manasamitra Vatakam- at bed time with warm milk or water 4) Ksheerabala (101) Capsules- twice daily after food Always eat fresh warm cooked food specially moong dal khichdi avoid cold food in morning Drink a glass of warm water with A Pinch of ginger and cardamom Include ghee and nuts in your daily diet reduce caffeine and white sugar Daily full body massage with warm sesame oil 30 minutes before bath Practice Pranayam daily for 5 to 10 minutes And one tap here instead of addressing the whole room commit to clear just one small surface every morning this will increase to cope up with your low motivation Spend 10 minutes for yourself in morning sunlight

What you are feeling is common when mind gets overloaded. Morning anxiety and low motivation usually come from mental fatigue + disturbed routine + overthinking, not just one single cause. First, don’t try to fix everything at once. That itself increases overwhelm. Start very small. Wake up and sit quietly for 5–10 minutes. Do slow deep breathing. Do not check phone immediately. This helps calm morning anxiety. Keep only 2–3 small tasks for the day, not a big list. Even simple things like cleaning one small area or going for a short walk is enough. This builds momentum. Your space being cluttered is also affecting your mind. Clean just one small part daily, not the whole place at once. Go for a 20–30 minute walk daily. Movement improves mood and motivation naturally. Sleep on time and avoid late nights. This is very important for morning anxiety. Diet should be regular and simple. Do not skip meals. Avoid excess caffeine, as it can worsen anxiety. Medicines: Ashwagandha churna 3 grams at night with milk. Brahmi vati 1 tablet twice daily after food. Saraswatarishta 15 ml with equal water twice daily after food. These help calm the mind, improve sleep, and reduce anxiety gradually. Understand that motivation comes after starting action, not before. Start small and be consistent. If anxiety feels very intense or overwhelming, talking to a professional can also help.

🧘‍♀️ Anulomvilom and Bhramari Pranayam will help. But you have to do it early in the morning only. ❌ Donot get yourself into any addictions. ❌ Donot drink tea or coffee or aerated drinks. ❌ Reduce screen time… No screen in darkness and 1 hour before you sleep. Consume audio form of data rather than visuals before you sleep. Filter the content of data you consume… Let it be spiritual or positive… ✔️ Drink a glass of buffalo milk daily before you sleep; it will help you get a sound sleep. ✔️ 100 steps after both meals are must. ✔️ Eat only home cooked food… Avoid outside food, packed and processed food. ✔️ Prefer natural liquids like fruit juice, coconut water, lemon juice, kokum sharbat over packed ones. 💊 Medication: 💊 Panchendriya Vardhan Tailam 2 drops in each nostril early in the morning empty stomach. Cap. Memorin(S.G.Phytopharma) 2 caps twice a day before food. Syp. Prasham 4 tsp at bed time with lukewarm water. Tab. Manasmitra Vatak 2 tabs at bed time.
