For conditions like OCD, depression, insomnia, and overthinking, Manasmitram can be used — but the dose depends on severity and tolerance. For most cases: Start with 1 tablet at bedtime (this helps sleep, calming mind, and reducing overthinking) If symptoms are moderate to severe and sleep is still disturbed after 1–2 weeks: You can increase to 1 tablet twice daily (morning after food + night before sleep) Important points: Always take after food (except bedtime dose if advised) It may cause mild drowsiness initially — this is normal Do not combine with multiple other sedative medicines without guidance Keep routine stable: Regular sleep timing, reduce screen exposure at night, and manage stress — medicine works better with this. Improvement timeline: Sleep → improves in 1–2 weeks OCD thoughts/anxiety → 3–4 weeks gradual improvement If you feel excessive sleepiness or heaviness, reduce back to once daily. Sir,I also take allopathic medicine like fluoxetine 40,lithium 600,alprazolam 1.50 mg, clomipramine 50, chlordiazepoxide 25, amoxepine 50., resperidone 1 mg…so my question is sir mixture of allopathic and ayurvedic is better or only allopathic is better. I also take ayurvedic medicine like manasmitram 1-0-0,mentat 250-1-0-0,brahmi 250-1-0-0, ashwagandha 250 1-0-1 Sumenta 1-0-0. Please guide me sir…I m confused
You’re currently on multiple strong psychiatric medications (fluoxetine, lithium, clomipramine, alprazolam, chlordiazepoxide, amoxapine, risperidone). This is already a heavy CNS-active combination, so adding many Ayurvedic medicines on top can increase risk of sedation, interaction, or mood instability. Direct answer: ➡️ Do NOT mix many Ayurvedic + allopathic medicines together like this. ➡️ Continue your allopathic medicines as the primary treatment. ➡️ If adding Ayurveda, keep it minimal and supervised. What to do now: Continue all allopathic medicines exactly as prescribed (do not stop or reduce on your own) Simplify Ayurvedic medicines: You can keep ONLY one: Manasmitram – 1 tablet at bedtime Stop for now: Mentat Brahmi tablets Ashwagandha Sumenta (Too many overlapping brain-acting herbs can cause confusion, excess sedation, or interaction with lithium/antidepressants) Important reasons: Lithium + antidepressants + benzodiazepines already affect brain chemistry strongly Adding multiple herbs may: Increase drowsiness Alter mood unpredictably Interfere with drug levels Safe approach: Keep treatment simple and stable After 3–4 weeks, if needed, one more mild herb can be added under supervision Key advice: Never stop psychiatric medicines suddenly Any change should be discussed with your psychiatrist Bottom line: 👉 Allopathy should be your main treatment 👉 Ayurveda can be supportive — but only one medicine at a time Regards, Dr Raghuveer (Ayurvedacharya)
Ok .sir. Thanks…from today i will take only manasmitram …
Respected sir, loss of interest in reading hain…iske liye koi ayurvedic medicine available hain?
Loss of interest in reading (anhedonia, low focus) is part of depression + mental fatigue, so the goal is to improve clarity and motivation gently, not overload with medicines. Since you are already on strong allopathic medicines, keep Ayurveda simple and supportive: Medicines: Brahmi vati – 1 tablet morning + 1 tablet evening after food Manasmitram – 1 tablet at bedtime (These help focus, memory, and calm mind) Optional (if needed): Shankhpushpi syrup – 2 tsp at night (improves concentration) Avoid adding: Ashwagandha, Mentat, Sumenta (already too many medicines → can worsen dullness) Practical tips (very important): Start reading in small chunks (10–15 minutes) Read at same fixed time daily Avoid mobile before reading Morning sunlight exposure improves focus naturally Expectation: Interest will not come suddenly — gradual improvement in 2–4 weeks as brain stabilizes. If you feel excessive sleepiness or no improvement, psychiatrist dose adjustment may be needed. Regards, Dr Raghuveer (Ayurvedacharya)
Ok…sir thanks a lot
For conditions like OCD, depression, insomnia, and constant intrusive thoughts, Manasmitram Gulika is used as a Medhya Rasayana (mind rejuvenator) to calm the nervous system and balance Vata–Pitta. Dosage Usually 1 tablet once or twice daily In moderate cases → once daily (preferably at bedtime with warm milk) In severe symptoms (like yours) → twice daily (morning + bedtime) is often advised How to take: With warm milk or ghee for better mind nourishment Take after food to avoid gastric irritation Ayurvedic support advice: Follow Satvik diet (avoid excess spicy, caffeine, junk) Practice meditation, pranayama (Anulom Vilom, Bhramari) Maintain proper sleep routine
